The catalogue of the exhibition held in Florence from 3rd to 30th March 2015 continues the artistic and human quest of Carlo Testi, landscape painter, committed for years to give a passionate and compelling testimony of Tuscany, where compositional traces of Macchiaioli's legacy interweave with a constant lust to sing poetically of Nature. The title is inspired by the presence of the Sea and the river Arno. The river is not portrayed flowing in Florence, but through scarcely known stretches, with erratic puddles, meanders known only to hunters, wetlands inhabited by a fauna that only few know. Next to the river, there is the Sea, depicted mainly in rocky stretches, where the waves break and dissolve their hymn to Beauty. These are the places, the courses of water, where the painter's emotional and artistic life merge into each other in unity, giving his paintings an incisive and pure lyric quality that the public has learned to love.
