Thinking Out Loud Ed Sheeran on repeat play - check Big girl panties on and pulled up - check Still a sobbing shredded mess four days after reading Carnage #1 & #2 - check So where do I start this review? Lesley Jones - I Love the F*** Out of You That's where I'll start. I've spent four days unable to even start trying to put into words how I feel about this book. I am not eloquent enough, humorous enough or clever enough with words to do it justice, but f***, do I wish I was. My love of reading has spanned nearly forty years and as an avid reader I have devoured many, many books across different genres with all types of writing styles as my tastes have changed over the years. The list of all-time favourites that I reread to death or the ones that have touched me for whatever reason and stay with me years after is miniscule in comparison to the amount read however, there are many I liked, lots I loved and some that amazed me but Carnage is in that tiny handful that are special beyond words. This crazy talented author has written this story so raw, real, gritty, sad, heartbreakingly crazy beautiful that I am literally shredded after finishing. I am going to say very little about the story because of spoilers, to experience these books you need to go in blind because you will not see it coming. No way. No how. I love him, from the instant I set eyes on him when I was just 11 years old I have loved him and nothing will ever change that, he owns me, he owns my heart and he owns my body and no matter how many lies are told, no matter how many people conspire to keep us apart, despite the fame and the distance, we will find a way. "Georgia Rae, when we made love you used to cry" ... He waits for me to sing my bit. I try to swallow down a sob but I just end up singing through it... "I said I love you like the stars above, I'll love you till I die" Carnage is an edgy coming of age love story that breaks all the rules and transcends the decades. Georgia and Sean's story will stay with you long after you read the final word. An emotional, smoking hot, gut wrenching read - yeah thanks for that Goodreads, understatement of the century. Four f***ing days later and I have the book hangover from hell. I got the "feels" so bad. I cried Ugly Tears when I finished Carnage #1. Sobbed like a crazy woman. Heartbroken and in awe of an author who took that type of chance. Wrote it as it was meant to be, no matter whether that was going to be the popular choice or not. Since finishing I have stalked Lesley Jones online (sorry I meant researched...) and discovered that initially it was meant as a standalone but, due to popular demand and threats of violence, she did Carnage#2. This gets difficult because if I put anything about the story of #2 here then I will spoil #1 for you if you haven't already read it. So I'm only going to quote one tiny sentence that I loved and not disclose any spoilers. "Life's f***ed, Kitten. It's cruel and twisted and it does spiteful things to good people. " And that's part of why this book touches you so deeply, because life is f***ed and sad and crazy and beautiful with sometimes more bad s*** than good, with times you can't seem to claw your way out of but, if you are really lucky friends, family and that special certain someone will carry you through with love, laughter, tears and no BS reality checks. Then that fickle b**** Karma sometimes gives you the good surprises and second chances. The banter, love and affection between characters is funny as f*** especially between two main characters, I adored them together. I also want a brother like Marley and a friend like 'No Filter' Ash! As I'm a woman of a certain age I was LMAO at outfits to impress the boyfriend involving stilettos, fishnets and leather - been there, done that, got the t-shirt! So, as I sit here re-reading this review I'm as unhappy as I knew I would be. Because these books gutted and shredded me in the best, best way and if I had the words you would all be running off to one click them and experience Carnage. But if this means even just one reader discovers them then it was worth me trying. Lesley Jones has written the most amazing, heartbreakingly beautiful story I have read in many years with such a punch that I will return to these many times over years to come just because I won't be able to resist, the draw is that strong. Lesley Jones I Love The F*** Out Of YOU!!!!!!!!!!

First thing I need to say is why have I not read this book before now !!!! This is one emotional read that had me hooked from page one and had me ugly crying at the final page and I have to say I'm glad that book 2 is already out. It's a book about Rock Stars but it also covers young love and trust issues and it really does show you that life is not always a bed of roses sometimes thorns get you. I love that the story is set in the area of Essex that I grew up in and the slang used was not an issue for me. I'm not going to tell you the story you need to read the book for that what I wil say is please make sure you have a supply of tissues handy because Carnage will mess your head up will make you feel emotions you possibly didn't realise you had. I need to read book 2 now

Starting this story I had a very hard time buying into it, as I felt they were to young to be having such a relationship at 11 and 13, but as the story went on and they got older it drew me in and I couldn't quite reading.......their love has no boundries.....they are strong......with stong friends.....strong family......who are always there for each other....They go through so much, but seem to always find their way back to each other many times....then.....one day......I cried........

**SPOILER FREE** The Story of Us is book one in the Carnage Series.  I gave this book 5 heart wrenching stars!!  If I could give it more I would.  This is Sean and George's story. There is not a lot of the story I can share without giving a lot of it away so I will just tell you a little bit and then share how I felt about the story.  Sean and Georgia met when she was just 11 years old, and they both knew as soon as their eyes met that they were meant to be. This is a story about a couple that meet at such a young and tender age and grow up. It shows you what life can do to you, even when you hang on with all that you got.  It is a story of love, life and second chances. It has a little bit of everything in it. You will fall in love with not just Sean and George, but with the rest of this amazing family.  You go on a journey of laughter, tears, and joy.  You get attached to each and everyone of them and share in their happiness and in their tragedies.  You will never be the same when you are finished with this story.  These Characters come to life and live in your heart. I picked this book up and couldn't put it down.  I hurt so bad and knew it was going to get worse as soon as I read the words The End.  I cried and cried ( I AM NOT A CRIER)  I felt pain, sadness and loss. This story is beautiful, it is real and it is tragic.  I was captured from the moment I started the book and didn't let go, even long after that last page was read. I am so scared to read the next book. I want so much for George.  Come on this journey that you will soon not forget. Share George's life with her and experience her love first hand, her loss, and her strength. You will never be the same.  This is a story that will stay with you and never let you go.

So this book was recommended to me from an author that I absolutely adore. I like the book but I am sure that I am in the minority when I say that I just wasn't all the stuck on Maca. I was really fond of Cam . I didn't think Maca was as committed to Georgia as he claimed to be. I still think he put his career first from the beginning and that was the problem with their relationship. I was happy for her but I was still leery. It was a great story and had many highs and lows and of course the NON HEA! Which was a huge shocker to me considering how I thought the story was going. I am anxious to see how book 2 goes. So if your brave enough to take a chance on an emotional roller coaster of a story then this is the book for you.

There were parts of this book that were a little slow for me. I wasn't getting what all the hype was about initially. Once it got rolling.... look out! This was not a bookthat I couldn't put down but I finished it in three nights. Towards the end.... I could feel it... something big was about to happen. Georgia was young and innocent in the beginning. Sean was carismatic and swoonworthy. Cam was mysterious to a degree. At one point I was totally routing for him. This is a story of young love... everlasting love... trials and tribulations. Its a story about growing up.... making mistakes... heart break... and epic love. It is well written. Usually I read only dialog with an accent.... by the middle of this book, the whole book was read in my head in a British accent! Highly recommended. Have the tissues ready.... I sobbed & ugly cried! Definitely well worth it!

If I could give this story more than 5 stars I would! I am one of those people who always means to leave a review for the books I read, but then end up not doing it for some reason or another. But not this one. The story of Georgia & Sean should be not just be read, but consumed. Because the story will consume your heart and mind. The twists and turns that these two lovers go through will set your head spinning, your heard beating and then breaking and finally you're at the end and, if you're like me, find you've been sobbing as you read the last words. I honestly felt every emotion I think I could possibly feel while living the life of these characters through the pages of a book. This is a story that is not to be missed and I give it the highest praise possible. Lesley Jones has gifted us with these amazing characters that will never, ever leave you. I will be seeking out more of her work while I wait for Book #2 in this series.

"I was eleven years old, but I knew without a shadow of a doubt I was staring into the eyes of the boy I was going to love forever,” This story was an epic, emotional, gut wrenching, love story. It follows a love that started early in life and follows it through the years. I haven't cried that hard in a long time. This story was just too much! I couldn't put it down for a minute because I was so wrapped up in the characters and their story. The twists and turn have you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I don't want to say to much, except hold on to your heart! I loved every minute, even through my tears. “I’ll love you forever G, wherever I am in the world, whatever I’m doing, it will always be you, I’m yours, for as long as you want me, for as long as I’m good for you, I’m all yours.”

SPEECHLESS….. This book has rendered me absolutely, positively speechless. (Problem is I am going to have to write this review so I am going to have to make my heart and my brain function together to put it into words for you) First let me say, if you are not into emotional reads then this story is definitely NOT for you! I am not sure how Lesley Jones was able to pull out so many emotions from me while reading this book, but well done!!! She wrote a book that put hope in my heart one minute but then had the capability of ripping it out and stomping on it the next. It was a rollercoaster ride and in the end I am shattered and waiting for book two. You will find yourself torn between two leading male characters…. Sean and Cam. There were things about both of them that I loved and there were sides of them that I didn’t like…. But I was torn with who I wanted Gia/Georgia to be with. Usually I am able to pick one over the other and have a “Team” to be on but this was hard…. I guess for me it will always be Sean since he loved her first. I think deep down it was always her for him. The ending….. left me shattered….. and now who will pick up my pieces???? I was not expecting it to end that way which probably is what makes it such a great book but wow…. Talk about devastating and gut wrenching! I will not be the same after that. How will I be able to move on???? Lesley Jones, you have brought me to tears and made me feel for these characters and I will never be the same after reading that ending. Just…. WOW!

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review* I have to write my review for this book immediately. Sometimes I wait a day or two just to get my thoughts together after a book. I can’t with Carnage, because I will be a sobbing mess and I really just need to get this review over with and move on to my next. My heart is broken after reading this book, just shattered. I finished it at 1am, I woke up twice through the night and both times my mind wandered back to what I had just read. I know a lot of it probably had to do with me reading so late into the evening, but even when I woke up I was gutted and teary eyed. I loved this book the minute I started and couldn’t put it down. It was one of those stories that you rushed through everything you needed to do throughout your day because you just needed to get back to reading and see what happened next. Many times throughout the story, I didn’t expect what happened next, it completely threw me off every damn time, it was one of the most painful, heart wrenching stories I have ever read. There were moments that made me smile and there were moments that pissed me off, but in the end it brought on so many emotions, it made me cry, it made me laugh and it aggravated the hell out of me. There is a second book expected for this series, and I really need it to be done. I know without a doubt that every time I think of this book, even months from now, my heart will tighten in my chest, my throat will get choked up and I will have to hold back tears. This is only the second time I have had this feeling over a book. That’s how truly intense it was. I loved all of the characters in this book. Georgia was a selfish, spoiled brat, but it fit perfectly with her age and I still loved her character. She was young and learning how to cope with the situations in her life, as many of us have. Her relationship with her brothers was remarkable and I loved the closeness between all of them. Sean and Cam, oh Sean and Cam. Both beautiful, incredible men, but completely different from one another. They were both just so passionate that you couldn’t help but love both of them. The book is based in England, so there is a lot of British slang and grammar, but for me it’s really cool and enjoyable reading books like this because I love the terms used. All of the characters are so ‘cheeky’ and witty and it really helped to break up the really devastating moments. Sean and Marley’s banter always made me smile. There were moments where the story did slow down a little bit, it got a little repetitive, but I think with the way it ended it really helped to build the story and give the reader enough to be heartbroken in the end, but also be fulfilled and content that they were able to experience so many moments with the characters.
