Mission: to save the Grand Lady of the Lagoon. Place: Venice Italy. When: 260 years back in time on the night of 'Carnival'. Jack and Annie of Frog Creek are off again on a new mission in the Merlin Series #33. Odds of surviving a dungeon: Fair to Good... i.e., if the 'book of magic' has something to help them, and Merlin's apprentices Kathleen and Teddy, too. Mary Pope Osborne never fails to create magic in her stories, with backgrounds of historical places, and supporting the suspense that follows Annie and Jack as they follow the instructions in a letter from Merlin -- '...When waters rise beneath the moon,/Visit the Grand Lady of the Lagoon.' The heroes meet grouchy guards, a son of a famous painter, climb the Giants' Stairs, fly the sky on a Golden Lion, and meet Neptune. Osborne visited Venice and of the city she writes: '...no photographs can truly do Venice justice. No notes or diagrams can truly capture her. Venice lives best in memory, stirring the deep waters of the imagination.'

Oh! What a ride and an adventure with Jack and Annie. Go with them and find the Lady of the Lagoon. Enjoy fireworks and a carnival all in one day along with meeting a painter named Tiepolo and learning about gondolas. Oh! Where is the Adriatic Sea? And why is that important to Jack and Annie¿s travels? For a fantastic time join the Magic Tree House adventure ¿Carnival at Candlelight.¿ *Engrossing reading. *Entertaining leisure time reading.

My children ages 3 and 5 liked this book. They heard a lot about Thanksgiving in school and this was a nice read for at home. The story easy to follow even for the youngest.

Carnival at Candlelight is another wonderful story in the Magic Treehouse series. This time the children travel to 1700's Venice, Italy on a life saving adventure. I enjoyed this book because it requires the story teller and the reader to use their imagination. The reader also learns lessons in geography, history, and art which only adds to its value. I would recommend this book to any child looking for an adventure and a chance to learn at the same time!

&starf Hello, All, and Welcome to ForestClan! Yes, I understand that there is many Clans, and i know 'Forestclan' may sound different, but that's ok! ThunderClan sounded odd at first, didn't it? Don't post here, please! These are the Rules and Map &starf
Rules Of ForestClan:
1 - No Godmodding! No matter if an enemy cat is around. This Clan is realistic, so keep it to the books [well, as close as it can get.]
--••••--
2 - No odd Powers, wings, etc. Remember, this is a Realistic Clan, so only go to the Limit of the books.
--••••--
3 - Please try to Advertise atleast Once a Day! That way atleast One new cat will join everyday.
--••••--
Map Of ForestClan:
Result 1 - Map/Rules
Result 2 - Main Camp
Result 3 - Bios
Result 4 - Leader's Den
Result 5 - Med Cat's Den
Result 6 - Nursury
Result 7 - Warrior's Den
Result 8 - Apprentince's Den
Result 9 - Hunting Grounds

I believe you shouldn’t read Carnival at Candle Light. This is one of the worst books by Mary Pope Osborne. I have read it so I now you shouldn’t read it. Jack and Annie travel back in time to save the city of Vince, Italy. It took me a long time to read it because it was really boring. The main characters are Jack and Annie . The battle between Neptune didn’t last very long. They got locked in jail but got out quickly after. The climax was not very big the setting was mainly in Vince, Italy. The word choice was not very good. There was not a good problem and solution. I highly recommend reading Carnival at Candle Light. That is why I don’t think you should read Carnival at Candle Light.
