Carrasco's Gold by G. Allen Clark

Read the book that is liable to launch a treasure hunt. History shows that during the 16th, and 17th century, Colorado was once a major shipping route for Spanish Gold traveling from New Mexico, eastward to Florida by way of the Arkansas River to the Mississippi River. Only 30% of all the gold minted in the new world made it to Spain. Many of these treasures remain hidden within inches of hikers, campers and Colorado hunters.
In 1863, TOM SHARP, a Confederate Soldier wounded and formally discharged, opened a trading post at the foot of the Mosca Pass, in a small hole in the wall area called Malachite, Colorado. What history doesn’t record, is how he supplied the trading post initially. Unknown to Sharp, the mine he built the post on, also hides the lost treasure of a failed expedition of 1700. Someone knows it's there however and is willing to give the lives of others to recover it.
