Cartel B!tch by Chelsea Camaron

There was a fine line between love and hate, we walked it together.?
I'm to be feared.?
When your family is as much a friend as an enemy, there is no one to trust.?
I am Javier Almanza.
Cartel kingpin.?
No one can touch me.?
No one can hurt me...??
Except her.?

Mari Belle Dominguez.

He was raised as family.
My brother's best friend, my first kiss, and my first betrayal.
He planned to make me his Cartel Bitch.
The joke was on him; I'd never break nor would I bend.
I would fight until the end for myself.
My will was stronger than his want.
He would soon see.??

This is book one in the Almanza Crime Family Duet and a full-length standalone romance. This is a dark, edge of your seat romantic suspense novel featuring an antihero, so there is a level of violence inside that may not be suitable for some readers. This is not meant to be an actual depiction of life inside a Cartel but rather a work of fiction meant to entertain.

Anti-hero conjured up images and thoughts of someone who is bad to the bone and does nothing that is helpful to anyone. They will kill anyone and everyone because they can and they feel nothing for anyone. No one is safe from their rages and retributions. And some of that is very true … but also very wrong. Javi … I was prepared to HATE this man. My introduction to him has shown someone selfish and uncaring, only interested in what he can get from others. And again, partly true. But there is so much more to him than originally shown. He is like an onion that needs to be peeled. The more your peel, the more layers you see. There are layers and layers to Javi. He is not what I thought he was, and that very much surprised me and intrigued me as I read this book. And Mari Belle … WOW! I knew there was more to the story. And what she went through for her child’s sake was astounding. Her strength is buried deep thanks to her circumstances, but it is still there. She has been fed lies and deceit from those that she trusted. Her true happiness in this world is her daughter, and now Javi is in the picture. But betrayal continues to be thrown her way and she will destroy everything for vengeance in the end. To me this story was about Javi. Where he came from, what made him tick, what created the man that he is. I am fascinated by his story. There is so much depth to him and no one really sees it because he keeps it hidden. I am hooked in wanting to know more of what happens. Nothing is ever as it fully seems, and Chelsea Camaron is becoming the queen of twisting my perceptions around with her characters. eARC through Enticing Journey Book Promotions
