Casey by Kelly Hunter

Rowan Harper has traveled the American Extreme Bull Riders tour circuit with her stock-contractor father since she was four years old. She’s seen the best rides and the worst wrecks. And then there’s TJ who impressed her most when he didn’t ride at all.

T.J. Casey walked away from his rightful place in last year’s bull riding finals in order to bury his father. His sponsors are gone, but he’s back to stake his claim. He wants the buckle, sure, but he also wants the woman who treats her bucking bulls like lambs.

Can T.J. really score the championship and the girl? Or will he have to choose between the two…once and for all?

I am not sure how in the world I missed reading this book when it came out on release day because I love all things rodeo have read most of the books in this series. But for some reason I did and it was the perfect book for me to read at the time that I did. Author Kelly Hunter was able to capture the spirit of the rodeo so well with her words as well as the characters too. TJ or Tomas James Casey is an extreme bull rider who had to leave the finals the year before to attend his father's funeral. (Yes he asked his brothers and mom to hold off as he was this close to winning it all and they said NO). He rides the bulls to get money for vet school and the ranch in Montana. Then we have Rowan the Princess of the rodeo of sorts.... well not really a Princess. Her daddy raises the bulls that these rough and tumble cowboys ride on. She has been beside him all the way since the age of 4 when her momma passed. So one could say she is a Rodeo Princess but more like a Queen of the Bulls in my book. She sees in TJ more than i think others do. This book is well written and a good read. I love watching the rodeo and reading this book brings back many a memory.

Rating 4.5/5 I haven’t read all the books in this seven book series, nor have I read the ones I have in sequence - but they each work well as standalone, even though they have some of the same characters in them. I have to say that, to date, this one is my favourite. Kelly Hunter brings the characters to life with her skilful writing, making them connect with the reader so, as she develops the characters and plot further, I was urging them on, giving virtual hugs and cheers to encourage them. Rowan has been brought up by her father, a tour stock contractor, travelling the tour with him since she was four years old. TJ is Tomas James Casey, a rider who chose to attend his father’s funeral when two of his brothers refused to arrange it so he could still compete in the bull riding finals. He plans to make this his final year on the tour, hoping to win enough prize money to enable him to pay to train as a vet. However, his father’s death has also reminded him that life can be cut short and he’s also hopes to win the girl of his dreams, Rowan, even though she never dates riders. . . . The character development through this story is superb, the plot engaging with plenty of surprises as the two journey towards their HEA. There are obstacles in their way, including some bucking bulls! The story is packed with family drama, great characters and I particularly enjoyed reading about Rowan’s emerging from her shell of baggy clothes to become a more confident woman working in a male dominated world, with lots of support and encouragement from Casey, who also becomes more focussed on what he wants from life after this season. It is a heart warming romance, one I have no hesitation in highly recommending. I requested and was given a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

Casy is jet another great book from this series. It has a completely different plot with another two great characters. Rowan and T.J know each other for years and when all see Rowan like a tomboy T.J. see a woman. So, after all, they are starting to see each other but it is difficult because Rowan starts to searching who she truly is and they both don’t know what do they mean to each other. The future after Bullriding for T.J. is also unclear. In this one, all the hot scenes are left out but the story has it weight, good characters, and plot that when you come to the finish you are satisfied with what you have read. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

This was a fun story. Casey is a bull rider, but the rest of the tour is coming down on him for bailing before finals the year before. What they don't know is that it was because of his father's funeral. Rowan breeds bulls with her father for the rodeo, but as a woman she doesn't really fit in quite right on the tour. But Casey certainly would like to get to know her better. Casey and Rowan were wonderful together. They were such a good fit, and Casey really helped Rowan come out of her shell and start to find herself, instead of just being a shadow working under her father. I really loved how Casey put family before riding, before everything. He really had his priorities straight.

Tomas James Casey always puts family first. When his father died, he left the bull-riding competition. It cost him his place in the finals and the respect of the other cowboys. I liked that T.J. put his mother and brothers ahead of his dreams. It showed what a good man he is. Rowan is a woman working in a male dominated world. She is tolerated even though she's very good with her bulls. Her father has always kept his distance. After his wife died he couldn't cope. Her sadness touched me. Tomas is drawn to her. Their relationship is special. I loved seeing them together. It made me feel good. Kelly Hunter has written a romantic and moving story. The characters are compelling and compassionate. The bull riding competition makes an exciting setting. Casey has a hero and heroine that I can root for. I'm enjoying the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour series. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

Another great addition to the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour. I fell in love with Casey and Rowan. Casey is nearing the end of his career as a bull rider, and not looking for love. Rowan is in the business of raising the bulls. Her father is very protective of her. They try to keep their relationship a secret, but soon things change. A great read of family relationships and loyalty. Loved the relationship of Casey and Rowan. Looking forward to next book in the series. They are all stand alone books.

This was just the sweetest book ever. Storyline: bull rider boy (Casey) likes champion bull raiser girl (Rowan) for afar. He finally decides to approach her even though her champion bull raiser father is a tough old man. They fall into a relationship that she wants to keep under wraps for fear of what the damage to his career her father could do. She decides to throw caution to the wind and openly date him. Then trouble sets in and she’s afraid to share what it is-with him or with her father. Casey is a man of character and backbone. He’s the kind of man any woman would want and Rowan is lucky to have him.

Casey by Kelly Hunter An Extreme Bull Riders Tour Romance #3 Wonderful characters to spend my day with – loved Rowena and Casey and their story. Each story in this series is written by a different author and they have all have so far been a delight to read! Casey is all about family and will put them above anything AND he showed that to be true when he headed home to bury his father in spite of the potential financial and professional gains he could have made had he stayed to ride. He puts in full effort when riding but he rides with a goal in mind and has a plan for the future that he believes means this will be his last year riding bulls. Rowena has been with her father on the bull riding circuit providing bulls for the riders since she was four. Her life has not been easy and it has not been typical but it is what she knows, loves and does well. In her spare time she has a hobby but she does not have many if any real friends and knows very little about being a girlie-girl. Casey has his eye on Rowena when he returns to the circuit and she seems to have her eye on him, too. Their journey to a HEA is not easy. They need to keep their romance (what there is of it) on the down-low. And yet, they definitely have feelings for one another. How it all unfolds is a story well worth reading and one I thoroughly enjoyed and believe you will enjoy, too! Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

American Extreme Bull Riders Tour series book three, Casey by Kelly Hunter. A great addition to the series. There hasn't been one book in this series that I haven't totally enjoyed. I can't wait to see what is up next in this series.
