Dick Morris is an articulate spokesman for common sense. He presents in a logical and highly readable fashion, what is happening to our country under this administration. His book spells out the problems and what we can do to address them. His experience in the political realm lends to his credibility. "Catastrophe" lays out the severity of the actions, some blatant, some not, being taken by our federal government, which are having a chilling effect on all of our freedoms, and especially the most cherished one - freedom of speech. Americans are becoming more and more afraid to speak their minds, because of fear of reprisal or of being ridiculed. Any bright, thoughtful person should be able to see what is happening to our personal freedoms, our Constitution, our monetary system, our private enterprise system, our healthcare system, our national sovereignty, etc. Dick Morris lays it out in such a way that the reader can understand the motivations behind Mr. Obama's actions, and helps the reader to be able to intelligently speak about these critical issues to others. These are truly life and death issues, but we must act from a logical perspective, and not simply on our emotions, as many of the left do. Mr. Morris gives a roadmap to gain back some dominion in vital matters, before our country is ruined for our descendants.

It's a book I couln't put down. Not only was it informational, it was an eye opener that I have recommended to a few too liberal friends. I wouldn't dare loan them my copy. I enjoy all of Dick Morris's book, they have opened my eyes, not only to how Obama is destroying our country and the freedom it stands for, but he is taking us into a direction that will surely destroy our God given rights. We must fight to keep our country free. Our Military has spilled a termendous amount of blood fighting for not only our God given rights but the rights of other free nations.

In light of the increasingly difficult economic hardships and President Obama's moves to take over entire sectors of what is left of that which is made in America, authors Dick Morris and Eileen McGann ring a Paul Revere wake up call for America. In their eye opening and thought-provoking book, "Catastrophe," they argue that the time is now to get involved in politics and intervene before America turns into yet another of histories failed socialist nations. At the basis of the book is an in-depth look at Obama's policies for catastrophic tax rates as a result of socialist health care, the dismantling of the free market economic and the middle the class, weak international politics, amnesty for illegal immigrants as a divide and conquer tactic and the whole sale destruction of the American dream, culture and way of life.

Reviewers should actually READ the book before they cast dispersions on it, for it is clear that the "person" who gave this book a one star review clearly had NOT read it. I don't think those having "opinions" in the absence of FACTS are worthy of offering us thought and/or human speech. If you can't READ the book, kindly refrain from offering us your uneducated and uninformed opinions. Every fool has an opinion; only those who've got their facts in order are worthy of a hearing or a reading. Perhaps this is why the liberal left is in such farcical shape, intellectually. They know so much that isn't true, as Ronald Reagan once said.

Love the angry comments directed at Morris made by many party loyalists who throw stones but do not respond to even one of the salient points Dick has made in this new book. Would be nice to see these and others raise the questions that need to be answered. Forget party loyalties, how about we become loyal to the people of this great land and raise our voices in opposition to the socialization that is going on right before our eyes. Wake up folks, this is your watch!

Very concise and detailed disection of Obama agenda. It's really unsettling that so many Americans are not paying attention to what is happening in Washington DC and that the Congress has assumed a "We know better" attitude and ignore their constituants in favor of "go along .. get along" mentality. One senator recently stated that the people of his state elected him NOT to vote based on the majority of his state citizens' desires, but rather that he was elected to vote based on HIS best judgement of an issue. Dick Morris warns that these people are leading the country toward Catastrophy ..

Those of you who criticized this book because you're enamored with Socialism should read RELENTLESS:The Socialist Attack On American Freedom. Then this book will make more sense to you. You simply have been brainwashed by the left and need to be deprogrammed and enlightened. This is a very good book because what he has to say is vitally important today, and, because it is easy to read and understand. Good job Dick.

The book is absolutely fantastic. I loved it. It is extremely informative and frightening at the same time. It is scary to read what is happening behind the scenes that the major news media outlets are just not telling us. I pray to God that this country changes the course it is presently on. This book is a must read for anyone who is interested in defeating the socialist and communist agenda that many in power would have us become.

Dick Morris, who you might remember as a Clinton strategist, and Eileen McGann do a remarkable job of flushing out details that the typical person would not normally think about. He puts Washington politics in very clear and readable perspective. The book reveals a lot of the real dangers this country is facing and how President Obama has failed on just about all of them. Ironically it is his own party that insists on sinking him. Nancy Pelosi is probably the most partisan House Speaker in the past 100 years. As for Harry Read, he appears as a tool of Pelosi and has shown virtually no leadership in the Senate. The interesting fact here is that whether you voted for Obama or not I think it fair to say that most Americans wanted to see Obama succeed. The last thing we wanted is to see the first Black American elected president to have a failed presidency. Dick Morris and Eileen McGann show exactly how these things are all playing out exactly as planned by the Democrats. Also, don't get fooled into thinking Obama is some kind of fool. Clearly he is not. He and the rest of his Chicago "Mafia" team are letting Pelosi and Read carry the water for them, while they turn America into a Socialist country, using the European model. The problem is this is a failed model that leaders like Sarkozy and Merkel are trying desperately to change. Ironically the real capitalistic country of the 21st century will be China. The authors also go into the amount of corruption in Washington and give details with names and dates. Even the shamefull practice of the younger Kennedy's trading off their dead parents to raise money for themselves of all things. Don't get me wrong, this is a fine American family who has given and taken from the government. But like everything else there are always a few sleezeballs in every crowd and the Kennedy's are not without their own. The book is enlightening in that it truly helps the reader understand what is really going on in our nation's capital. Be you Democrat, Republican, Independent or something other I think you will find this book interesting and thought provoking. After reading it and really thinking about several of the sections I think the book is actually a MUST read for anyone who truly cares about this country and where it is heading. In my opinion it clearly earns five stars and should be on everyone's must read list.

This is not a review of the book as much as my opinion of it. I am neither rich nor poor. Nor am I a democrat or republican. I am simply someone who has seen the country move drastically to the extreme left in both actions and future plans. This move sickens me yet I remain silent. It frightens me while I look the other way. Thank goodness for writers like Morris and McCann. In Catastrophe, they point out the obvious in a glaring, horn-tooting fashion; making it impossible to not miss the big picture. Every section of the book taught me a new item that I did not know about. And while, much of the book must surely be hyperbole, it is worrisome that large parts may not be. No matter your ideological leaning, you should read this book, do your own research, and then decide if this is the change we really need. I fear that once we go down this road, we will lose our map for the way back. This year I have read and also enjoyed these books. (Reminder that enjoy does not equate to total agreement) Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative ManifestoGuilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America Glenn Beck's Common Sense: The Case Against an Out-of-Control Government, Inspired by Thomas Paine I hope you find this review helpful. Thanks. Michael L. Gooch

The facts are absorbing and frightening. The book is indeed a stimulating research book. I find that I refer to it many times, both for conversation and my own education.

An insightful book based on FACTS....hard to find these days. The book pulls back the curtain on some things we didn't know and weren't able to findout just listening to main stream news. Thanks for shining the light a little brighter on the truth.

Catastrophe should be required reading for every senator and representative in both the Federal and State governments. It's well vetted and highly informative. It pulls no punches and Dick Morris holds both parties responsible for the mess our government is in. It should also be required reading for anyone who is taking a political sciencs class in either high school or college.

Before I picked up this book I was in a state of mind of ignorance. Mr. Morris and Ms. McGann offers some very compelling information about the politics, economics and social stigmas that ultimately may very well damage America's future. The book balances between a multitude of dilemmas and gives numerical and statistical information to back up his argument. Information is fun and easy to read for everyone.

This book was just what I thought it would be. Dick Morris is someone who once had the ear of the President when he was with Bill Clinton. He is not a person that would intentionally lie and for this reason his books are quite an interesting read. Some facts in Catastrophe were a bit surprising but very informative. I would definately recommend this book to anyone who is fed up with Congress and Washington in general.

An excellent book for those who wish to be informed. The authors write simply, clearly and factually. This is a perfect book for a layperson looking to educate him or herself on what is happening in our government at the present moment

Dick Morris really hits the mark with this book and I think that it appeals to a bipartisan mass. A must read for anyone that wonders about our new government and is concerned for our future. When the smoke fades and mirrors cloud, we WILL be left with a Catastrophe on our hands!

In light of the many issues concerning reforms in our nation, Mr. Morris' book helps find the facts, find what's underlying the surface issue. As a 60-year old conservative American citizen who is concerned about the direction our nation is taking, this book was a must read for me. I am more articulate about the issues.

This book is truly unique in that it is written by a former 20 yr. campaign consultant for President Clinton. Instead of being Thrilling or Touching, this book is Scary. The fear because of the truth in what is currently and historically happening in our society. The slow waking up of the majority of USA citizens which have been in denial mode. The fear they don't wake up fast enough. The truth that the actions of prior Democratic AND Republican Presidents have enabled our current President & his cronies to push for a Socialistic Society, a socialism catastrophey which will punish all citizens of the USA in years to come. Everybody should read this book to realize the events which will change, if they continue, the future and the constitution of the United States. The poor will stay poor, the middle class will become poor, the poor rich lose. The very rich I do not concern myself, they always protect themselves by having the ability to "donate" to those in power. Few will be able to rise above their designated station in life. Our children will become cattle, fodder for the tyrants of the future.

I am speechless after reading this book. The research and organization that went into it was amazing. I will never look at politics and politicians the same way again.

Dick Morris once again predicts the alarming results of huge deficits being developed by the Obama administration. Vital, brilliant analysis to fully equip us for what's to result from this out-of-control spending that isn't helping, but rather is the cause of, the current stagnation in the economy. A must-read to fully understand the economy and potential future of our country.
