About the Author

Michaela Wright is an American author with a 'bordering on unhealthy' relationship with Deep Fried Mars Bars, Scottish Accents, Iced Caramel Lattes, and commas. Her long standing love of history and ghost stories (and a staunch belief in soul mates) has resulted in many a randy love story, often told over the backdrop of some of the darkest moments in history. These interests have inspired a Google search history that has most likely resulted in an FBI dossier on her, but that's neither here nor there.

Michaela lives in Chelmsford, Massachusetts with her daughter and a brood of animals, including cats named Omen and Chapter. When she isn't writing, she's performing aerial silks in her backyard or hula hooping, and on some occasions, sipping a Cider with friends until her own fake Scottish Accent comes out.

A good story with angst that permeates the storyline as the main character is unable think like a mature adult even though she was in her 30s. Nor does she make good decisions. I think that has a lot to do with her job loss and being suddenly homeless. I thought that is what made her act and think like she did. She was successful then suddenly she wasn't. Who wouldn't be a bit insecure if that happened to them? I'm glad the rest of the story progressed as it did and I enjoyed the ending. I thought he was perfect for her.

Her life is in freefall and she is now without a job and a home which sends her home to her mothers. She wants to wallow in self pity but her best friend will not allow it. He gets her to go out and she starts painting. Suddenly she starts to think of him in a different way. Can this be what she needs? See how they will get on I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Faye Jensen is a thirty-something gal that just can’t seem to catch a break. Not only has she lost her job due to a layoff, but she’s been evicted from her home and finds pictures on her boyfriend’s phone of another girl’s hoohah. Now she is stuck moving back home with her topless-yoga loving mom and trying to pick up the pieces. This book made me laugh out loud at some of the situations that Faye finds herself in. She is a bit naïve and trusting, misunderstands so many things, falls in lust with her best guy friend, and has a love of 80’s music. Faye goes through a range of emotions while trying to get her life back in order and there are times I want to yell at her “don’t go back to the ex”. She is that friend who is a train wreck that can’t seem to get herself together, but you love her none the less. This book has a lot of things for everyone; humor, romance, laugh out loud moments, and a story about friendships and looking for a happy ending.
