I purchased this for my four-year-old son as we transition into reading more chapter books. He loved it! The story is interesting to kids and adults alike. It is quite short (only 4 chapters) which I did not realize before purchasing. We read through it in two sittings and that is only because I insisted on stretching out the story. The story thoroughly captured my son's imagination and we went on to read the next three titles in the series though using library books. Give it a try!

I read this book when I was a child. I remember feeling the sense of wonder it gave me, and how deeply connected I felt with the little kittens. I am 25 now and I am going to buy this book just so I can read it again. Buy this for your child or a loved one, it's beautiful and will put a smile on your face.

Beautiful story, with brilliant illustrations.  Perfect for any child, adult, or any Ursula Le Guin fan!

I love the Catwings books. Thelma looks just like my cat Dora. I wish she would make more. My favorite book is Wonderful Alexander and the Catwings.

I read this book a long time ago at a slumber party while everyone else was asleep. I couldn't fall asleep and saw this book on my friend's shelf. So, I read it. It was awesome! The winged kittens were so intriguing - I used to wish my cats could fly.

''I suppose their father was a fly by night,' a neighbor said, and laughed unpleasantly, sneaking round the dumpster.' The story 'Catwings' by Ursula K. Le Guin, is about tabby cats with wings. They leave their mother and fly away to live on their own. They landed in the forest and looked after each other. Owl went after Roger and James. Harriet found out that James was hurt badly. Harriet had also seen a human while flying, described with big eyes like their own. Harriet went again and Roger tagged along Then there were two humans there! There was food on the tree stump. They went ahead and helped themselves. Then the other tabbies came and ate. The humans were amazed. There were four winged cats, which they called Catwings. I believe the message of the story is that what seems to be impossible is possible. Never think something is impossible. Anything can happen, at least in imaginations. I really LOVE this story because it is telling readers that anything can happen when I read it. I think readers who like cats would like this book. There are cats as main characters, and they can fly around. I think this is a good book for any person.
