Caught Dead & Other Catastrophes is for readers who prefer to laugh at life rather than be defeated by it. With a wry, sardonic tone, Browning battles working catastrophes, deafness, stumps from space and even killer luggage.

TG Browning explores the small-town spirit and the quirks that come with it in a succession of wonderful essays that ranges from aliens to funerals, and all apparently true. Recalling his life in concise, witty stories ha takes the reader through the ups and downs of a life fraught with incidents that would make anyone wonder if someone was out to get them. I have no problems finding the collection hilarious, even though I live across a continent and an ocean from the action in Toledo, Oregon. Actually, that¿s not true. My neighbours think I¿m a bit strange, because people in Sweden aren¿t supposed to sit on a summer night laughing until they cough, for lack of breath. Needless to say, I enjoyed it tremendously!
TG Browning has written the definitive collection of off-beat and wacky essays on small town life with an eye for the strange and bizarre. Not limited to his early days in Toledo, Mister Browning has expounded on a myriad of weird occurances that seem to surround him like a thick Balkan fog -- and the reader can relate with gales of laughter. I enjoyed this collection of essays very much.
