Overview

Several of the characters have returned from the first novel, More Than A Dream, but their lives aren't quite so idyllic now that time has moved on. Gerard Michaels, the perfect catch for any woman, discovers his past has caught up with him adding much drama to his and Nicole's household. Amayah Love, who was all set to marry the wonderful and well-off JaBari Jackson after her divorce from Xavier, wonders if she jumped out of the frying pan and landed into the flames. Even old Ms. Alameeta Irene Jones has knowledge of what happens when one gets caught up and life gets in the way. New characters have moved on the scene, and it seems like every one of them is caught up in something or the other. Things concealed come to the light. That which is in plain sight isn't what it seems. Forgotten experiences have resurfaced.

The city offers an abundance of temptations and transgressions. It's easy to get caught up in a web of deceit . . . but is it possible to get loose?

It was very easy to identify with this book. The situation's and characters were on point. The author was able to take professional uppity individuals, from various backgrounds and place faces on them that the reader could easily see and feel with each word. She kept me guessing with pluasible circumstance's.

Caught Up is a great read. The story line really picks up in Chapters 2 & 3 and keeps you guessing until the end. The themes are an excellent example of what to do or 'not' if you get "Caught Up" in life! Most of the characters come from the author's first novel "More than a Dream" but are explored in much more detail. You don't have to read the 1st to enjoy the character development. This book is fun and entertaining if yo want to escape life for a few moments. The themes are mature but a teenager should be able to handle the content. The characters will make you 'mad' but you can't stop reading about the train wreck in these people's lives... our Book Club, 'Ebony Pages' based out of Richmond Va. read both books and had the opportunity to 'interrogate' the author. Ms. Mills was open to our questions and took our feedback with a smile. Hopefully you will enjoy the book.

Very good read. It was easy, the characters were very well defined so that you could see their faces and get caught up in their lives. I look forward to the sequel as I know there is a lot more to be told.

The characters were real, and they dealt with life on life terms. The story and those in the story gave me reason for self reflection and to look at the things that I, too, get caught up with. It was a well-paced story with plenty of detailed information about the characters and their backgrounds and how they managed to be caught up as many of us so oftentimes do. I was entrenched with some of the characters as they remind me of people I know. Some of them, I'd like to know. The story started well and was supported well throughout with many twists and turns keeping me guessing all the way to the end. Once I began reading, it kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I'm looking forward to the sequel that I hope will be written because I want to know even more about what happened in their lives after this ending.
