Cause and Effect

Her first release since parting with longtime collaborator Arvid Solvang, Norwegian singer/songwriter Maria Mena's fourth studio album, Cause and Effect, features a much more stripped-down acoustic sound than the epic pop
ock of her previous efforts. Produced by Martin Sjølie, the 2008 follow-up to Apparently Unaffected features the singles "Belly Up," "All This Time," and "I'm in Love," and her cover of Kiss' 1970s classic "I Was Made for Loving You."

Most of the songs were very catchy and easy to love right away. However, when I actually listened to the lyricts some of the songs really opened up to past struggles Maria Mena must of had making them very personal and different to other songs of hers. It was almost like I was intruding on her life by listening. Unlike some artists, these arent chatchy songs that are actually filled with fluffy meaningless crap.Personally, I do think some songs went a little too personal and I could do without the swearing but nevertheless she is a great artist and I hope to finally hear some of her songs on the radio.
