After eight years of performing as a duo with brother BeBe Winans, 1995 saw the beginning of CeCe Winans' solo career, a move that only served to further the artistry and ministry of this singer/songwriter. In 2001, Winans' self-titled release marked her second album from Wellspring Gospel. The follow-up project to her 1999 gold-certified album, Alabaster Box, the release combines a variety of styles, including CCM, pop, urban, R&B, inspirational, and gospel. Winans had no doubt as to the direction and purpose of the self-titled release. In fact, with it she desired for "people to feel encouragement and passion." And the album does just that. Upbeat, energy-filled, and enthusiastic, the project is not only musically diverse but offers hard-hitting messages. The song "It's Gonna Get Better" was written with teen suicide prevention programs in mind, while "Bring Back the Days of Yea and Nay," a duet with brother Marvin Winans, challenges parents to take responsibility for training their children. A definite highlight on the album is the song "Looking Back at You." It is an inspirational track, leaning toward a ballad, that speaks of God's unfailing and unconditional love.

She keeps it real and allows the holy Spirit to move her. I am so blessed by her music and she encourages me and my friends to stay strong.
I love CeCe's music. I like that she keeps it so real in her songs that many of us can relate to. She always keeps the lord first and i like that about her. Everytime she makes more songs, it just gets better and better. Listening to her music has gave me another outlook on life and the lord. She doin it...
This is a great buy! Cece has integrated R&B and Hip-Hop with God's Word. The first track, ''Heavenly Father'' is the bomb. The lyrics to her tracks are so Spirit-filled. If you enjoy listening to contemporary gospel, this is a must have CD for your collection.
With every release CeCe Winans puts out, it just gets better and better and better!!! This new self-titled CD is poised to put CeCe into a new realm of music. It seems as though the Pop market will finally get a taste of the music ministry that is CeCe Winans.Even though the music is steeped in splashes of R&B, Adult Contemporary, Dance & Pop, the one thing that remains the same is her message. CeCe is one of those artists that can musically change with the times. But at the same time, she doesn't have to try hard to bring the message of Jesus Christ through song. It's like breathing when you hear CeCe: it just comes naturally. From the slow-funk of ''Heavenly Father'', to the beautifully orchestrated ''Holy Spirit, Come & Fill this Place'', & the pop flair of the first single ''Say A Prayer'', CeCe's messages of hope, love and belief in God shine through with every track on this project. The song that caught me off guard (my favorite) is ''Out My House''.This song declares war on the enemy in such a way, by the second chorus you'll be singin' ''Get Out My House!'' And mean every word of it!!!I look for this CD to break ground in a big way (like ''Everlasting Love). Get ready for the ministry of CeCe Winans!!!
This is the first impulse buy that I have not regretted. I kept wanting more! You'll love it too!
I think CeCe's music it the one of the best out there she knows how to work it she is the best of the best i and when she does her music she brings it all out with rap slow and blues the oprea thing going on and everything its good to sista working with the lord and just keepin real no suagar coating anything she tells it like it is You Gotta Love Her....
