5 STARS Celebrating A Christ-Centered Easter is a good way to remember what the Easter holiday is about. Emily has broken it down to seven parts of the story of what was going on at that time with our Savior through seven people who had good examples and relationships with him. She uses these for seven weeks to strengthen her family's relationship to Christ. 1.Lazarus 2 Simon 3 Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus 4 three different Marys 5 Thomas 6 Diciples on the road to Emmaus 7 Jesus Christ She shares how she celebrates each week with these people who had dealings with the Savior, songs, activities to draw her family closer together and to remember the savior. I like the traditions of the red eggs. I did not realize what coloring the eggs meant. This book is a fast read. Or you can spend a lot of time really learning the lessons, read the scripture accounts, sing the songs and do the activities of service and other things with the idea to bring Christ into our lives more fully. I like Emily's writing style and the tone of her books. I have now only read two of them so far and I have loved both. I would read more books from Emily Belle Freeman in the future. I was given this book so that I could honestly give my own opinion of Celebrating A Christ-Centered Easter and be part of its book tour.
I SO LOVED the book Celebrating a Christ-Centered Christmas written by this author that I quickly grabbed this book off the shelf to study it :) I am always looking for ways to be more Christ-centered and Emily Freeman's books really help with that! In Celebrating a Christ-Centered Christmas the focus was on 7 different pieces of the nativity set. In Celebrating a Christ-Centered Easter the focus is on "7 different personal experiences with the Lord that took place just before and just after His suffering, sacrifice, and Resurrection." You will learn about Christ's experience with Lazarus and how He can help all of us out of the darkest moments we might find ourselves in giving us "unexpected hope." You will read about Simon the Cyrenian and how he was called upon to carry the cross for Christ and how we might fully understand how to help someone else carry their cross of burdens. Others that you will hear about are: * Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus * Mary Magdalene, Mary, and Salome * Thomas * The disciples on the road to Emmaus And finally you will read about Jesus Christ and come to know how to offer up our finest to Him who gave us His all. Emily also shares with us a "tradition" we might incorporate with songs, scriptures, stories and activities for each experience. It is here you will understand the symbolism behind wheat baskets, forget knots, red eggs, and other things that help make Easter a "High Holy Day." Use this book daily for 7 days or weekly for the 7 weeks leading up to Easter Sunday. It will help bring your life and heart more Christ-centered.
