Anne B. Harrison wrote a unique mail order bride story. When I did a quick perusal, I was reassured that this was NOT a cliffhanger, because it showed an epilogue. Unlike other romance writers, Ms. Harrison wrote a story using harsh facts to incorporate the reality of Callie's dire straits. When a deadly tired truck driver plowed through his stop sign, Callie was left with grief and a mountain of debt. Despair from losing her parents made the news that their debt meant her dream to support her younger sisters was impossible. Or at least, she couldn't succeed on their ranch in Austrailia., Chance was a champion bullrider on the American rodeo circuit, until he met Temper. The Brahma bull did not kill him after their ride. He just tried to. His hooves caved in Chance's hip, insuring that his career was going to change. He was faced with his immediate retirement from the rodeo tour season and his plans for his future retirement was now his present choice. Some readers were whining that Callie's decision to humanely shoot her two cow dogs back home before she left Austrailia for America. She loved her dogs and she was forced to put them down because NOBODY could take them in due to the drought conditions. Orther ranchers culd not afford the expense of keeping the dogs who would have to trained ti trust a new owner. She was faced with two choices: simply abandon the dogs at the homestead to probably starve to death or put them down herself so they were not suffering the loss of their human family or becoming fodder for the predators who would attack them. Some readers felt she should have lost the right to have a cowdog because she had to kill her dogs. I disagree. When you work the land you have to make survival choices. Desserting the dogs in Austrailia to fend for their lives or saving them from a slow, tortuous death by taking that burden up by making athe hardest decision to put her dogs down had only one humane action. Michael Vic ran a dog fighting enterprise. He used his children's desire for a pet to bypass his sentence that he could NEVER own another dog. Callie's dog was not a pet. When you are raising lifestock alone, you need a trained dog as an assistant. Training a dog made them part of who you are as a successful rancher. Sherbert is a key factor in Callie's success as. Manager, which Ms. Harrison supported throughout her story. Ms. Harrison wrote the story with the gritty facts of a real rancher. It was an interesting storyline. Tyson is a key pain in the story but I still don't like him!!! I recommend this story. It a quick read with a great potential as a series.

I like stories that finish up within 150 pages and introduces multiple characters that lead to future sweet stories. Love at first sight, sure. Surley brothers, sure. Healing brothers, great. More love stories and happy endings for me.

Good read, silly in places but still okay...

International mail-order bride. A little bit of a twist because it is also a 1 yr business contract.

Take a good story, make the book interesting, & shallow. Write about an area, and use incorrect slang. Why even write, when most of the last half of this book is two people having more quick sex, than a pair of rabbits.

2 1/2 Stars. I was a First Read Winner of this book and I am totally on the fence about this read. There were certain aspects that I really liked and it was an easy and quick read, but my brain kept interrupting and telling me some things just don't make sense. She is either a mail order bride or a ranch hand, it just didn't make sense to be both, especially as sex was part of the contract, and she seemed the only one working, you would have thought that more than one person was needed to take care of this big ranch? And why couldn't he talk to his brothers, they are all adult men? So many little things that kept spoiling the fun of the read for me. Lots of questions unanswered, but maybe they will be addressed in future books to come? Either way it was an entertaining.

Engaging story with likable characters. You really empathize with Chance as he has to make a total life change and Callie as she struggles to save her farm and help her sisters. Callie is a great choice for a wife being out spoken and able to stand on her own in spite of her circumstances. The only problem with this novel is it is too short to fully develop the characters and you never find out what becomes of Callie's sisters in Australia.

Irony is quite funny! I flew through Chance and Callie story without setting it down. It was kind of funny how Chance decided to tackle his issues and Callie thought to resolve hers. Many things could have gone wrong, but all worked out for the best. Also, the spin how Terror changed Chance life a few times and that Chance owned Terror was quite a fit of irony. Can't wait to see if Callie's twin sisters have their own stories or what happens with Tyson and Rory. Received an ARC for an honest and fair review.

"Chance for Love" (The 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo Book) by Ann B. Harrison. This is Chance Watson and Callie Lister's story. Chance is a top International Bull Rider but his last accident has ended his career. He has been getting tired of all glitz of competing and this accident has caused him to rethink his priorities. Chance advertises for a ranch manager to help him with his ranch since he is still recovering. Well, it was more like a mail order bride that could also run the ranch. Callie's parent died in an accident and left her and her sisters with a mountain of debt. She accepts Chance's offer of ranch manager and agrees to marry him. The contract is for at least one year or two. When Chance and Callie meet they are both immediately attracted to each other. Will their attraction turn their marriage into a real marriage or will it end when the contract time is up? This is a sweet and steamy romance with lots of obstacles that get in Chance and Callie's. I enjoyed their story. Chance and Callie are perfect for each. FYI, includes mature content. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

When champion bull rider Chance Watson is injured on the rodeo circuit, he is forced to take some time off. He heads back to his Montana ranch to recover. When he realizes he needs some help, he decides to advertise for a ranch manager and wife. He had no idea he would end up with spunky Australian farmer Callie Lister and fall head over heels in love with her. Callie is doing what she needs to do in order to help support her sisters after her parent’s death. The job in America is only for a year and then she can head back home with enough money to pay off her debt and help her sisters. Even though Chance's brothers are against it, he goes through with the mail order bride plan anyway. Chance and Callie find themselves falling in love fairly quick. The characters and their backgrounds were good and the story moved along fairly fast making it an enjoyable novella. Although the mail order bride idea was a bit far-fetched, it seemed to work out well in this story.

This was a very different story. Callie lost her parents, and was trying to clear up their debts and make sure her sisters were taken care of. Chance was injured on the rodeo circuit and needed help on the ranch, and a change in image. Mail order bride crossed with ranch manager job - should solve both of their problems. Definitely not your typical romance novel. That's what made it so great. Callie is so capable as the ranch manager, plus she and Chance had great chemistry. Chance's brother, Tyson, certainly caused some issues with his attitude, but Callie certainly held her own with him as well.

I so enjoyed this story of a mail order bride. Chance needed a ranch hand so he advertised for a bride for one year as he recovers from an injury from bull riding. Callie lives in Australia, she needs so money for her sisters after an untimely death of her parents. Callie arrives to the ranch and is not afraid of hard work, and a mutual attraction develops pretty fast. They are just perfect for each other, now for Chance's brothers to think the same. A great story on a marriage of convenience that develops into true love. Loved the characters. Callie was not afraid of hard work and what other people thought. I really hope we get to read more about Chance's brothers, hint, hint!

At first I thought a mail order bride, really? Let me tell you, I LOVED this story! Callie and Chance were matched perfectly and the Montana setting was just right. When you are in bind you take drastic measures and hope and pray for the best. That is what Callie did when her parents died and she needed to pay off their bills. She got lucky that Chance was a hot looking cowboy. A great start to a new series I can't wait to read more. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Chance Watson needs a ranch manager, and a wife. When he advertises for one he finds Callie Lister, an Australian farmer. Callie has lost her parents and now needs to bail herself and her sisters out of debt. The offer is too good for her to resist. From Australia to Marietta Montana. I loved the characters and the storyline. I can't wait for Chance's brothers to get their stories.
