Overview

It was the weekend before Thanksgiving. More than 100,000 fans were jammed inside Michigan Stadium, on their feet, to witness a heated football rivalry that had spanned more than 100 years. As the football was kicked into the snow-filled sky, they were about to get the shock of their lives, as long-foretold Bible prophecy came to pass before their very eyes, causing many to vanish into thin air without a trace. But what they soon realized was that it reached far beyond Michigan Stadium. Chaos of unimaginable proportions ensued worldwide. Shock, fear and panic filled each heart and mind. It was just the beginning of things to come, as life as humanity had known it was forever changed in the blink of an eye..

Reviewed by Donna Gielow McFarland for Readers' Favorite Chaos In The Blink Of An Eye by Patrick Higgins is the prequel to an award-winning end times series in the tradition of the Left Behind books. Just like the beginnings of all good disaster movies, Higgins establishes various characters whose stories are likely to intertwine as the story continues. These characters include New York City taxi driver Tamika Moseley, Michigan football fan Brian Mulrooney and his friends, U.S. President Jefferson Danforth, and many others. The action focuses around the November Michigan-Ohio State football game, which is where extraordinary events will be broadcast on live TV. Patrick Higgins won me over from the start with his humility and genuineness. In his “For your consideration” note to readers, Higgins doesn’t claim to have all the answers, or the date, or that he has events in their correct order – he simply explains his interpretation as he understands it. I found Chaos In The Blink of an Eye to be well-written, concise, and with clear descriptions to establish each character. There are a lot of characters, but they were so well-drawn that it was easy for me to remember who was who, and I really appreciated that! I recently read the entire Left Behind series and I have to say that from this promising beginning, I believe the Chaos In The Blink Of An Eye series might be even better. It is not written solely for Christians, and so I would recommend the Chaos series to anyone who enjoys dystopian fiction or a good disaster movie.

It is a typical time for people as they prepare for the Thanksgiving holidays. There is a lot of hustle and bustle going on. No one is focused on anything but getting ready for the big family get together coming up. They all have agendas and are rushing to get things done. I enjoyed reading and getting to know the characters in the book. Just below the surface of our existence something is looming. No one knows when it will happen, but as prophesied in the bible, the rapture is coming.. The author prepares us for the beginning of what will become chaotic, scary, and unpredictable. We are not guaranteed one moment on this earth. In a blink of an eye, a second in time everything will change. I liked how the author gets readers engaged enough in the story to want to continue the series. I will be reading the next in this explosive series eagerly awaiting what happens to the characters. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

his short prequel gave an introduction to several characters from various walks of life, in different locales. Many of them were brought together just before the disappearances occurred. The characters were all different, and mostly likable.. This prequel gives a good introduction to the Chaos series, and it makes me wonder what would happen next to the characters. I received a copy of this book from the author, through Celebrate Lit, for review purposes. The thoughts expressed here are my own.

This is a short book that leads in to a series of books about the world changing. This book sets up the characters and the premise of the series. I look forward to reading the next books in the series. I need to know what really happened to all of these people. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

This story is based on a long-foretold Bible prophecy.  It takes place during a football championship and in a blink of an eye the world changes. The author tells us a story that will make you think, whether you are a believer or not this story is interesting and the ending will get your attention.  I was gifted a copy through Celebrate Lit, my review is voluntary..

Chaos in the Blink of an Eye A very short read to get you hooked in to the series. I am definitely wandering what the other are like. Friends were getting together to go see a special ball game. We get to know a lot of characters, Tamika drives a cab while trying to make ends meet. Justin is a new Christian ready to share about the Lord to his friends. Will he get to do it. Kinda seems like a series close to the Left Behind books. I did like the first few books of that series. I will be putting the rest of this series by Patrick Higgins on my list to read. This Prequel grabs your attention to want to know more about the characters. I received an complementary copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write an positive review. This is my own opinion.

This is a great start to what I expect to be an amazing series. This book rivals the very famous Left Behind series in my opinion (which I read and loved). The story in this book is mainly leading up to the rapture and the author does an excellent job at building the suspense. I loved that the reader gets to see this event from several different perspectives and locations (a taxi in New York City, an airport, a packed college stadium, even Camp David). The author has an introduction before the story with his thoughts on the rapture and his pre-tribulation views. I hold the pre-trib views as well but his “evidence” for these views were different than any I’d heard before and I found them very interesting. I loved how the author showed the obsession that our country can have with sports. I’ve often said to my husband that it seems like sports (especially college football in my area) is some people’s religion. If they had that same fire and love for the Lord, this world would be an amazing place! The characters in the story were well developed and written in a way that makes me want to know more about them. Overall, this was an excellent story…I just wish it was longer. I definitely plan on picking up the next book in the series. My Rating 4.5 stars I received this book from the publisher/author to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Pandemonium set in when individuals disappear in a blink of an eye. Higgins’ focus on the end times written in this fictional novella provided Biblical research he had done prior to writing this award winning Prophetic series. Chaos in the Blink of an Eye introduced five characters with their lifestyles, social economic status, faith and gender. Higgins love for football brought three of the characters together for a rivalry game between Ohio State and Michigan with the rapture taking place. The realistic events and happenings that are vibrant with description of the turmoil that arose when millions disappear will cause readers to think about what will happen to them when Christ comes back for His church. I appreciate Higgins Biblical research and scriptures along with the twists and turns of the characters leading up to the event in this story. The epilogue had numerous questions that will be answered in the complete series. Believers in Jesus Christ realize this day is coming, but this is an excellent novella to give to nonbelievers for them to read with football and team rivalry that could cause them to consider their own personal relationship with God. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for his tour with Celebrate Lit. I was not required or paid to write a positive review but have expressed my own opinion.
