**I received a copy of this book for an honest review.** Overall, I enjoyed the story. The backstory was complex, with everybody tied to everybody else and having two identities, but on the surface that worked for me. What didn't work as well was the fact that Kate/Georgia could "end up" back into the middle of it when her car broke down outside of some random town. It was too coincidental. I liked Ryker and Kate/Georgia. They had their pasts, their reasons and explanations for who they were, and I could appreciate that. When it came time for the relationship to change, however, his change from wanting sex only to wanting more, and hers from wanting to keep her secrets to trusting him, just happened. They didn't know why; it just did. Considering the kind of people they had been forced to become by life, I would have liked to have seen little more personal insight from them both. I liked that the writer didn't pull her punches when it came to the violence. It was a little heavy-handed toward the end, but at least it didn't get resolved too easily or without cost. Some of the explanation/tie-up was a little convoluted, which over-complicated things, along with the complex backstories for the characters. The book needed a better proofreader. I found numerous small mistakes (incorrect punctuation, improper usage, spelling, typos) and better formatting. Any line that ended at the margin put an extra space between paragraphs. It happened a lot. Overall, I'm likely to give this reader another try.
