Charmed at Christmas by Claire Delacroix, Erica Monroe, Deb Marlowe

The Earl and Countess of Banfield cordially request your attendance at the wedding for their daughters: Lady Tamsyn Hambly to Mr. Gryffyn Cardew, & Lady Morgan Hambly to Harold Mort, Viscount Blackwater, on the 24th day of December, 1811, at Castle Keyvnor, Bocka Morrow, Cornwall.

CHARMED AT CHRISTMAS includes:

Claire Delacroix's A Duke By Any Other Name

Daphne Goodenham has always been determined to wed a duke--not just because she loves fine dresses and parties, but because she wants to guarantee that she and her sister are never destitute again. When she meets the Duke of Inverfyre, a notorious fop, she immediately notices intriguing inconsistencies. Is there more to the duke than meets the eye? Why would he hide the truth if he were handsome, young, rich and a duke? Alexander, the Duke of Inverfyre, is bent on catching a notorious thief who injured his sister, no matter what the cost. But when the lovely Miss Goodenham is bent on charming him, Alexander's disguise proves to be no defense against her curiosity--and he has no resistance to her kiss. Will Daphne inadvertently foil Alexander's plan? Will he have to sacrifice her interest to avenge his sister? Or can Daphne ensure Alexander's triumph and make her own Christmas wish come true?

Deb Marlowe's Lord Locryn and the Pixie's Kiss

When is a kiss actually a curse? When an irate Pixie forbids you to kiss the wrong girl--ever. Unfortunately, Lord Locryn Pendarvis has no idea why girls are falling all over themselves not to kiss him. He only knows that after a certain point, the risk of humiliation outweighs desire. Until he meets Lady Gwyn Hambly again. She's witty, charming and beautiful--and just as interested in him as he is in her. They'll do anything to ensure their future together--even fight the supernatural forces aligned against them.

Erica Monroe's The Determined Duchess

After the death of her beloved guardian, Miss Felicity Fields is left alone with an uncertain future. But this blunt bluestocking has a secret: she's determined to resurrect her guardian through the ancient art of alchemy. The last thing she needs is the return of Nicholas Harding, the Duke of Wycliffe and rightful owner of her home on the wild coast of Cornwall. He stirs an unexpected passion within her, and Felicity has had enough change in her life.
When they were children, Nicholas never understood his aunt's brilliant but unemotional ward, or her many scientific studies. Now, he's determined to bring Felicity to London so that she may make a match within society--except he can't stop thinking about her. But with the line between life and death blurred by Felicity's experiments, can he convince her that she's no longer alone, and her proper place is by his side?

The Hambly sisters are getting married at Christmas and people are gathering at Castle Keyvnor for the celebration. Anyone who has visited the Castle before knows that strange things are bound to happen. This time isn’t any different. In Deb Marlowe’s Lord Locryn and the Pixie’s Kiss, a lovelorn tree sprite tries to thwart Thistle’s efforts to correct a spell she cast on Locryn so that he and Gwyn might find love. Morcom, the lovesick tree sprite, misunderstands Thistle’s reason for wanting to kiss Locryn. Thistle doesn’t know what or who is interfering with her spell. Time is running out. Thistle needs to solve the puzzle. Erica Monroe tips her hat to Mary Shelley in the Determined Duchess. This is the story of a scientifically minded and lonely girl trying to bring back her deceased guardian. Felicity and Nicholas grew up knowing each other. He has inherited the estate and has come to take her to London to prepare her for society and finding a husband. She does not agree. They don’t see eye to eye on the science, but can they find a way to see heart to heart in love? In Claire Delacoix’s A Duke by any other name, Alexander Armstrong, Duke of Inverfyre, arrives in Bocka Morrow in a foppish disguise to catch a jewel thief. He also has the seed his sister insists is magic and will, according to legend, grow and bloom to help him identify his true love. He is prepared to trap and catch the thief. He is not prepared for what he feels when he meets Daphne Goodenham. Maybe he’ll put the magic seed to the test. Charmed at Christmas is an absolutely delightful, if rather odd, collection of Christmas tales. The book was a gift. The review is all mine.

330 pages of holiday excitement! Each story is interconnected, each written with each author's charm, dialogue, and their writing style. Perfect for a holiday romp through Recency Romance. Well written with a bit of humor, some suspense, mystery, a few surprises, and plenty of romance. CHARMED CHRISTMAS is a entertaining and interesting Recency Romance by some if my favorite authors. You will be hooked from the first page to the last. Deb Marlowe, Erica Monroe and Claire Delacroix, certainly know how to hold a captive audience! I loved everything about these masterfully and delightful holiday stories. A must read and keeper! I received a complimentary copy, however, all opinions are my own Rating: 5 Heat rating: Mild Reviewer: AprilR

I really love how different authors come together to create such beautiful stories within the same series. All of the shorts in this book are amazing, poignant, and heartfelt. The sheer humility felt by a young woman wanting to do right by her sisters to a couple in love with unseen forces against them to a man learning that what you think is not always right. Though there are fantastical elements woven within ,any of the shorts in the series, they do not seem forced and outside the norm due to the fantastic writing of the authors. I greatly enjoy each of the books in the series and look forward to reading the rest. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

I was gifted Deb Marlowe's portion of this book. I know that I can ALWAYS rely on Deb for true characterization, a solid plot, and a warm-hearted story. I got exactly what I wanted for Christmas! Deb has the strong ability to take the reader from a point in the past to the present. She always ties up loose ends, and always warms my heart with her story line and the feelings of her characters. When I read a Deb Marlowe book, it is as if I am there, and am friends with the friends of the two main characters. Way to go Deb! Another fabulous entry to the Castle Kreyvnor series!

romance that made me happy. In The Determined Duchess we see Felicity Fields try to bring back her deceased Aunt Margaret. Nicholas Harding tries to convince her to stop. I liked Felicity. She's both strong and vulnerable. I could feel how her loss made her afraid. Nicholas was such a charming hero and their attraction was so romantic that I was pulled into their love story. I wanted them to get their HEA. Erica Monroe is a new to me author, but I plan to change that. I enjoyed her characters and the story line. In A Duke By Any Other Name both the romance and the suspense kept me interested. Alexander Armstrong, the Duke of Inverfyre, is on a mission. What an interesting character with his disguises. I love the touch of magic. The seed that will aid his suit to his true love is a fun touch. Daphne is a perfect match. She's intelligent and unafraid. They are a perfect together. Claire Delacroix did an excellent job. Castle Keyvnor is a central location for all three stories. I enjoyed Charmed At Christmas is a perfect holiday treat. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

Charmed at Christmas (Part of the "Christmas at Castle Keyvnor" series) Christmas at Castle Keyvnor is a collection of 4 books, each containing three novellas by different authors. The stories all take place in and around the notoriously haunted Castle Keyvnor during the Christmas season and the weddings of two of the Hambly sisters whom we met in "The Haunting of Castle Keyvnor" series (though you don't need to have read that collection to enjoy and appreciate this new anthology). The books can be read as stand alones and in any order, as all the stories take place concurrently. It's a charming device because while each story is complete unto itself, many of the same characters appear and reappear in each of the novellas, so we get to observe them in different circumstances. All the stories have a little (or a lot) of supernatural flavor, with ghosts, pixies, demons and the like either aiding or thwarting the main characters. Having a collection like this is as delightful as going to a Tapas bar and sampling fabulously prepared tidbits of food—the tastings make you want more! I definitely plan to seek out more works by some of the authors who I'd never read before. I thoroughly enjoyed each of the collections. Lord Locryn and the Pixie’s Kiss by Deb Marlowe Thistle, a mischievous, but helpful pixie, casts a spell upon Lord Locryn so that he will only kiss Gwyn, his one true love. When Morcom, a friend and hopeful paramour of Thistle misunderstands her interaction with Locryn, it appears that the two young lovers may not get together after all. This was a cute story, with misunderstanding and confusion reigning supreme. The Determined Duchess by Erica Monroe Felicity Fields is determined to use her knowledge of chemistry and alchemy to resurrect her beloved late guardian Margaret. When Margaret's nephew, Nicholas Harding, returns to the estate where Felicity resides and becomes her guardian, she is rightfully fearful that he will stop her research and she will lose her window to resurrect the one person in her life who truly understood and loved her, eccentric ways and all. To both Felicity and Nicholas's surprise, more sparks fly than are created in Felicity's laboratory. A Duke By Any Other Name by Claire Delacroix A disguised Alexander, Duke of Inverfyre, travels to the town of Bocka Morrow, near Castle Kevnor on the trail of a notorious jewel thief. He is completely enthralled with Daphne when they meet en route, but his foppish disguise and serious quest allow him no opportunity to further the acquaintance. Daphne, for her part, is attracted to him despite his appearance, and unwittingly gets caught up in his investigation. A mysterious blooming plant plays a crucial part in the story, and allows for the inevitable HEA. A delightful, well written story with enough intrigue to keep the reader guessing. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

I received a copy of this book from one of the authors. I was not required to give a favorable review. This was a wonderful book about the Christmas season with a little bit of twist in each of the stories. I very much enjoyed it and loved each f the stories. Love, Holidays and a little bit of magic make a wonderful combination for these books. All 3 authors are wonderful writers.

Charmed at Christmas is a set of three novellas that take place in the same setting and with related characters. Each story can be read individually. All three novellas were well-written and entertaining. A Duke By Any Other Name by Claire Delacroix - Daphne Goodenham meets Alexander, the Duke of Inverfyre, a notorious fop. She notices inconsistencies and wonders why he would have anything to hide. Alexander finds Daphne very intriguing, but he is on the trail of a thief and can't let anything distract him. I love these two characters and this story. It was charming, sweet and I really enjoyed reading it. Lord Locryn and the Pixie's Kiss by Deb Marlowe - Lord Locryn has been cursed by a Pixie, and he doesn't know he is blocked from ever kissing the wrong girl. He only knows that he has not been able to kiss any women, ever. Then he meets Lady Gwyn again, and realizes she is as interested in him as he in is her. They are determined to do anything to have a future together - even if it means fighting supernatural beings! This was such a fun, sweet story. The Determined Duchess by Erica Monroe - Miss Felicity Fields has lost the guardian she loved dearly, and now her future is unsettled. The longer Nicholas Harding, the Duke of Wycliffe and rightful owner of her home, stays away, the better, as far as she is concerned! She is a scientist and is working on the most important experiment she has ever undertaken. Even when they were children, Nicholas has never understood Felicity, but he knows his duty and is determined to bring her to London and help her find a match in society. But now he can't stop thinking about her - and Felicity is starting to have feelings she doesn't understand either. I enjoyed reading about the transition of these two characters, and their journey to find love. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
