This was a very funny story about Bannor, a widower, a ferocious knight who had always been away at war. He had no idea how to take his 10 children in hand, who were able to terrorize him since he didn't know how to discipline sweet little girls, toddlers, and preteens who demanded all his attention. They could play pony and tie him up, follow him everywhere he went, put flour in his helmet, burn off his beard, etc. He finally asks his lieutenant to find and wed by proxy a mother for the children, but ensure she's ugly so he won't be tempted to have more children. Unfortunately, the woman he finds taking care of her many stepbrothers and sisters isn't what he expected at all: after he's already offered for her hand, he finds out she's outspoken and beautiful, and knows Bannor will kill him for his failure. When she arrives at her new home, she's appalled to find it's a marriage in name only, and she's exchanged one slavery for another. The monstrous children try to drive her away, until they find they have a common enemy--Bannor. This isn't intended to be the great romance of the century, but a very enjoyable, entertaining and romantic romp.

Loved it. Many wonderfully funny scenes. Likeable characters. Not just about the hero and heroine getting it on. Nice cast of secondary characters.

Loved this book! Romantic, funny, light read. I have read 9 of Teresa's books. Have enjoyed all of them! Highly Recommeded

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. I thought, what with 10 kids already, the story would be done and over with, with little more to tell. I'm glad I was wrong. I loved his kids and all their pranks! I loved the herione, too. Gutsy and fascinating. Both hero and heroine were very well developed with subtle nuances to make them unique. The secondary characters were equally interesting, which isn't always the case. I was ecstatic to learn that the hero had been a virgin on the wedding night of his first marriage, and was able to keep it in his pants outside the marriage bed. Finally! A man with virtue and an author willing to write him! It gave me hope that there's a hunk of burning love somewhere out there waiting for me who's willing to wait! Thank you Teresa, for writing a hero I admire in EVERY aspect and for him still being irresistable! This is the first male lead I have truly admired, and who is truly pure and admirable, w/o being boring. Keep up the good work. I definitely recommend this book to anyone in want of an excellent, charming read. I am not selling it back to the paperback exchange. This one's a keeper.

One of the best romance books I have read in a while. I could easily see this as a rom-com movie. Be prepared to laugh out loud numerous times. There are a couple of heated sex scenes, but eloquently done. Definetly worth the money and will be reread in the future. Do yourself a favor, buy this book, set aside about 8 hours, and Enjoy!

I, like so many other reviewers, found myself laughing out loud through out this book. I caught myself blushing and at times, sobbing. This book ended up being a page turner for me. Read it !
