Humor, mystery, and some intrigue. This was a woman’s show. She had to prove that she was innocent even after being acquitted. The proof of her innocent was left in her hands. She had to find the truth. She lost too much. Suspicious clung to her like a thick grey cloud on a rain fogged day. Miranda finds herself on a mission to find out who and why she was framed for something she did not do. Along the way she finds more than just the truth. She finds a friend, ally, and a bigger problem than the missing $37 million. Miranda was a character that you could easily be drawn to and the situations she found herself in. This was an up-n-down ride of highs and lows in her adventures to find the truth. Accusations and bullet flew through this one. The trips to one place or another did not stop her pursuer. She had to find out who and why. Along the way, she never expected or counted on the FBI. Even with Jakes working the case his own way they seem to find themselves working together a lot. Much happens in the process of getting answer. There are those that don’t want those answers to be found. The Narrator . . . of CHASING THE DOLLAR (Miranda Vaughn Mysteries, #1) . . . Terri Schnaubelt had me drawn in to the world of Miranda Vaughn with her cadence that put me at ease. I loved the flow she provided with the various notes in her voice pitch and tone. I found the quality of the audio was smooth and professional. The timing was just what I needed.

Life has never been easy for Amanda, but she just focused on her goals and won through. Then the bottom fell out when she was Federally accused and tried for embezzlement at the investment bank where she worked. Even though she was acquitted, her life was in the toilet. With only a few good friends and no money to her name, even abandoned by her fiance, she takes on a part-time job with the family friend/lawyer who engineered her defense. Dealing with all of the paper and computer files remaining from the trial, she comes upon some startling information and forms a plan to confront an evident conspirator and find out just who framed her, and return the money to the devastated investors. Her credit cards are still valid, so she heads off to Macau. And runs into the FBI agent who had cuffed and escorted her nearly 2 years ago! No more spoilers. Just know that this is a very well-written action/adventure novel, and that it will keep you on edge and waiting thru plot twists, betrayals, and a possibility of romance. The book is already great, but Teri S. is a fantastic audio performer who readily conveys the tone of every scene: urgency, uncertainty, anger, outrage, suspicion, terrified fear, and any other emotion called for. She is also able to give further depth to each of the characters.

A very well-written story and first in series of a young woman wizard with numbers ("Rainman good") that obtains a job at a financial firm then finds herself implicated in a vast swindle by her bosses, and dumped by her fiance and vice-president of the firm. Found 'not guilty' on all counts but broke and in debt to her aunt, the only job she can now find is working at her aunt's bakery. Determined to 'follow' the money, clear her name and get her life back, leads to a 'vacation' trip to Macau. Let the deceptions, danger, and romance begin...... A very feisty woman that keeps her head under pressure, and finds that the life she wanted back wasn't as great as first considered. This story is also available in the free Deadly Fun collection.

A great book. Poor Miranda has to clear her name or go to jail. She meets some great people along the way and one sexy FBI agent--I would do something illegal if I was promised a gorgeous FBI agent. You will fall in love with Miranda and her crew. You will laugh and cry all the way till the end. Look forward to the next book in this series.

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review. I REALLY enjoyed this book. It was interesting how the book started, learning that  Miranda was found not guilty. I enjoyed all the twist and turns. The money jargon got confusing at times, but that was just me. I will definitely read any book by Ellie Ashe. I will also impatiently wait for the next installment.

I loved this book - it drew me right in and kept me engaged until the very last page. I already can't wait until the next book is released. This is an engrossing romantic mystery with the perfect blend of mystery and a hint of romance. The author is a great story teller and is most definitely an author to watch - this is her first book and it is fantastic. I can only imagine how great her future books will be.

Great New Series!!! This was a great book by a new author. I read this book in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down until I finished reading it. Miranda has spent over a year trying to prove she was not involved with a fraud scheme at her job. The jury found her not guilty, but her reputation has been destroyed and she lost her fiancé. Miranda decides if she can prove and recover the money that was stolen then she could then get her old life back and once and for all prove she was framed. She sets off on an adventure to Macau and Belize, to uncover the truth. While in Macau things happen and she has to rely on the help of sexy FBI agent. They must work together to find the answers they are looking for. This book has it all romance, humor, mystery, suspense, and a sexy FBI agent. I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out.  A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Chasing the Dollar by Ellie Ashe is a wonderful book. After fighting for a year and a half, Miranda Vaughn is a free woman from a fraud scheme. She's determined to find out the truth, so she can move on with her life. She finds out a whole lot more than she expected, plus a handsome FBI agent. This novel is a great mystery with some romance that had action-packed drama, suspense, and intrigue that kept me turning the pages to find out what's happening next. I recommend reading Chasing the Dollar and this is Book One in the Miranda Vaughn Mysteries. I'm looking forward to Book Two in this series. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.

This book was a true page turner.  It started with a bang and never let up.  I was on the edge of my seat the entire book.  Miranda was a very brave, intelligent woman that was underestimated.  She decided to take measures into her own hands and find the truth.  Why was she being targeted?  Would the truth set her free?  Who is Jake and how is he involved?  Is the former love of her life, Dylan, coming back to her? Is he worth it?  An international adventure that  disappointed me when it came to an end.

Great beginning to a new series!! Meet Miranda Vaughn, a woman who's been set up to take the fall for her financial firm's investment scheme gone wrong. Miranda wants to find out who's behind the fraud, return the money and clear her name. To do this she must work with Jake, the hot F.B.I. agent, in a wild ride through the U.S. to Belize and Macau. I loved it! Can't wait for book 2!
