About the Author

A North Carolina native, David Whisenant began his broadcasting career at the age of 16 at a radio station in Salisbury, NC. He graduated from Appalachian State University in 1983 and went back to radio work before becoming a television reporter for WBTV. He lives in Salisbury with his wife and is active in his church, serves on various community boards, spends as much time as possible with his granddaughters, and most days can be seen putting in the miles on his daily run through a local greenway.
