When you start a new series, you never know what you’ll get and this one was no different. What I got was an interesting premise where genetics were the over-arcing storyline with the romance of Tristan and Victory as a bonus. If I were only planning on reading this series based on that, I might or might not have continued. However, when Tristan and Victory did get together, I totally needed a fan! Their sex scenes were open door so nothing too graphic but plenty of steam for this imaginative girl. ::grin:: I enjoyed the mixed narrative as well. It helped me feel like I was getting inside the characters heads a little. While I took off points for it being so genetics heavy and Tristan and Victory falling in love perhaps a tad too quickly, I added one or two back because I got to add a whole bunch of cool new tech terms to my vocabulary. So, if you like an interesting story that’s a quick and easy read and you are game to stick with it past this first book, I think you’ll be CHASING VICTORY and quickly fall in love with The Winter Sisters too. ****4 Stars**** I received a copy of this book from a tour promoter in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for this review.

Joanne Jaytanie loves dogs, in particular Doberman Pinchers. If you did not know that from reading her biographical sketch, you would safely conclude it after reading the first book in the Winters Sisters series, “Chasing Victory”. Victory Winters' natural gifts are in demand. She has a bright mind and is an expert in genetics research. The catch is, not everyone is willing to pursue her honestly to acquire those gifts for their use. Especially Biotec's CEO, Lawrence Braxton. She has other gifts, as well, ones not known to general population, including a telepathic ability. Tristan and Wyatt Farraday have adjoining interests. Finding out what Biotec is up to, and finding out more about Victory Winters and her lovely sister, Payton – perhaps on more than a professional basis. Some of the premises of this book, especially the research being done by Biotec, stretch the limits of how much a reader's imagination can expand. (No spoilers here.) BUT the grounding of the engaging characters (or evil of the villains), along with the wonderful Dobermans, easily overcome this issue and result in a good introduction to the novel. I already have the second book in the series, and am curious what will be revealed in Payton's story. RATING: 3 1/2 stars, rounded up to 4 stars. DISCLOSURE: This book was provided free of charge as an “extra” in a random draw in which another book from the author was included. There was an implied request for an honest review, which you are reading now.

The first book in the Winters Sisters Series, Chasing Victory focuses on Victory Winters, a genetics researcher. After witnessing the murder of her college friend, Victory realizes that she must flee to safety because of what she saw. Tristan is a member of a covert government organization that is watching a rival genetics company, Biotec. Biotec wants Victory on their payroll and will do anything to get her. After meeting Tristan, she isn’t sure if he can be trusted or not. But, her telepathic abilities to communicate with canines enables her to communicate telepathically with Tristan and he wins over her trust. This was a very interesting and fast paced novel. Right from the beginning the suspense story kicks off with a BANG (pun intended)! Victory’s research is very interesting and well developed within the story. I especially enjoyed how Tristan and his brother’s abilities came into play. The pace was perfectly set while each element of the story changed throughout the pages. Just when the romance came into play, the suspenseful elements would come back around. It was really well done and kept me wanting more. I’m interested in seeing where the rest of this series goes and to learn more about Victory’s sister’s and their family business. *copy provided for review

Awesome slightly paranormal romance & suspense & My first audio book (Loved it) Victory is a scientist dealing with DNA and also telepathic.  She knows what dogs are thinking and feeling.  She is kidnapped by a ruthless Braxton, CEO of Biotec.  He kidnaps her to do DNA testing with animals mixed with humans.  He’s doing this to make a strong army of soldiers.  He is a very evil man.  Tristan, the sexy alpha hero, (along with his other alpha members) is investigating Biotec/Braxton in connection to his recent devious acts.  Tristan goes in as Victory’s assistant.  Does he rescue her and bring Braxton down??  You’ve got to read this book (or listen to it) to find out.  It is a totally awesome slightly paranormal romance & suspense story.  The author did a super job in portraying this story in a way that keeps you interested to the end.   This was my very first audio book, and I really enjoyed it.  I liked the audio version because I could listen to it while doing other things, like household chores.

Victory receives a call from an ex saying he needs her help with something and to meet at their old picnic spot. When she gets there she ends up witnessing his death. Now she is on the run. She knows that they will be after her so she goes to her sister. She can sense that someone is following her. There is something more to Victory than meets the eye. Tristan is Military and works under his brothers command. He was already following Victory's ex. Now his goal, since they now know Victory is innocent, is to keep Victory safe. There is also something special about Tristan and his brother. They are Telepathic. Turns out to keep Victory safe they end up having to work very close together after Victory is kidnapped and forced to work for the enemy. Turns out Victory is Telepathic also. Which may work in their favor. Turns out Biotec, the bad guys, are experimenting with injecting canine DNA into humans and they now want Victory as they feel she is the most qualified person for the job. They were determined to get her help any way they could. I LOVED this book! I wasn't sure what to expect really. Joanne throws some curves at you and keeps you on your toes! Once you start reading you don't want to put it down, at least I didn't. I'm highly anticipating book 2! I would definitely recommend reading this book!

Ms. Joanne Jaytanie debut novel is an amazing paranormal story! Her sexy hero and strong, intelligent heroine are a perfect match for this paranormal romance. Victory was born with ultra keen hearing. She recently discovered her ability to telepathically communicate with animals. Her telepathic link with Tristan, the hero, developed when they were first thrown together and he had posed as her lab assistant. She was kidnapped by Lawrence Braxton, CEO of Biotec. She was forced to continue her work on foreign DNA, a project that was dear to her heart. Braxton had all but destroyed her work. He injected two men with wolf DNA and forced her to lead his insane pursuit to create the perfect super soldier. If it hadn't been for Tristan and his SOCOM Team, she wouldn't be here today, nor would Morgan and Collin, the two test subjects. I recommend everyone give this new author a try.

Chasing Victory is a delightful debut novel by first-time author Joanne Jaytanie. Our beautiful protagonist, Victory Winters, is a veterinarian and geneticist specializing in molecular biology for Claremont Research in Poulsbo, Washington. She also has a special innate ability she keeps secret: she has almost a telepathic gift to communicate with animals. As head of her department, she’s currently researching canine DNA and its potential benefits to humans. Then one day, Victory receives a cryptic call from Jeffrey, an old friend and colleague who she hasn’t seen or spoken to in 5 years. Like her, he’s also a veterinarian and geneticist working for a competitor company, Biotec. Jeffrey insists he needs her help and asks her to meet him in a picnic spot. But, to her horror, once there she secretly witnesses his murder. Soon after, she’s approached by a representative of Biotec with an offer to work for them. They claim that Jeffrey is working overseas, and they want her to take his place. Though she doesn’t trust them, she decides to play along in order to investigate her friend’s murder. But things go unexpectedly wrong when instead she’s kidnapped to a secluded island and forced to do research, injecting humans with wolf DNA. Unbeknown to Victory at first, the madman CEO wants to create the perfect invincible army. Thus, Victory is soon pulled into a vortex of intrigue, blackmail and murder. Together with the hero, Tristan Farraday, a naval officer who also has telepathic abilities and who is sent undercover to investigate Biotec’s experiments, Victory must find a way to stop the company from carrying out their horrific plans and to get out of the island alive. This was a fun, light, entertaining read! They story is compelling and the hero and heroine sympathetic. Victory is intelligent, yet caring and sensitive. Tristan is the perfect combination, not too alpha, not too soft. The action moves at a pretty quick pace, and there’s a lot of action and romantic suspense to keep readers turning pages. One thing I especially enjoyed about this story is that the love between Victory and Tristan develops gradually and organically. I certainly look forward to reading more works from this author. Recommended for fans of paranormal romance!

A dangerous suspense novel that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the high risk and tension throughout the book. The characters were relatable and entertaining to read. Edge of your seat action packed, emotional thrill ride of a romantic adventure filled with danger, powerful secrets and a extraordinary human flare. Victory is sexy, sassy, strong and brilliant. Tristan is an alpha male with both beauty and intelligence. They have so much in common including some extraordinary abilities not every human has. Thrown together in on a dangerous mission to bring down a corrupt organization that is experimenting on humans and changing their DNA. Not only do they make an awesome team but their chemistry is undeniable. Loved every heart pounding, exciting twist and turn.

I am familiar with this author and I really enjoyed this story. It was different and engaging from beginning to end. Interesting twists and I really liked the characters and just wanted to learn more about them. Its kind of a supernatural theme but there wasn't much in the way of it besides reading minds and having a 6th sense and maybe mixing DNA might have triggered something. I do wish there was more background on that but perhaps in the other books ahead there will be. There was one spot I did a face plant and Victory had a little TSTL moment. I guess we all have them but this was obvious. Getting on a boat with someone you just met who might have had something to do with your friends murder. I mean come on anyone would have seen THAT coming that he'd drug and kidnap her. Definitely not her finest moment. I liked Tristian. He's a good guy and solid. Enjoyed the book.

I loved the suspense with just a little mystery there is a thrill a minute in this read. I am not sure what I expected is sure wasn't what I got Ms. Jaytanie really blew me away with her wonderful scenes, characters and her outstanding writing style. You have a many alpha males here who use to be ex military. Brothers who can talk without talking. What it must be like to be in someone else mind is mind blowing. Tristan is a sweetheart of a man not knowing what he is getting into as he is on the hunt for the bad men. He is hot on their trail when one ends up dead with no leads only a smell of a women he must find before it is to late, could she be in on this or is she innocent. The hunt is on.... It doesn't take him long to get into the thrill of action that he dearly loves. He might have gotten in over his head in more ways than one. Victory loves animals, she has spent her life talking to and helping them. She is doing research to help find people unique ability in hope to find curses to help humans. One night, one old friend will change her life and the path she is on. With being kidnap she is force to do her research on canine DNA. She is shocked at what she sees, what she finds is mind blowing, she will spend her time working hard to help those that are hurt by this research. Victory is just one sweet loveable caring lady who is out to help the world. She has a rough road which could lead to her death if not her sisters death. So many life's can be lost if this isn't handle very carefully. There are so many wonderful characters I hope each one get their own story as this series continues. It is a thriller which keep you hopping, with a few Oh Mys thrown in as you cheer for this team to find a way out and help those injected with the DNA. This story will break your heart as it raises you up with the humor. I chuckled a time or two as well as laughed out loud. It is a very touching read with a little romance thrown in, which is well written and flows smoothly. I felt so much pain for the victims I could hear as well as see their pain. For those that where implanted with canis DNA the author showed the pain as they learn to deal with many issues. I would think if and when the time ever comes that this is done it will be as the author has wrote it or very close. I found this to be a very believable story as chills run down my back at the thought of this ever happening. I have no doubt there are people out there who would love to have the perfect soldier and would do anything to make this happen. I could relate to each character in this well told story of what the future might bring. I just might be hooked on reading a few more Paranormal. I do want to thank this author for giving this audio in a drawing and letting me listen to it. I wouldn't have missed it for the world and am so looking forward to reading/listening to more from her. My hats off to you for one outstanding read.

Farraday is following a trail of murder, kidnapping, and blackmail. The trail leads him to Victory, who has been forced into Biotec’s world. Can Tristan chase down the truth and win the race for Victory? My Review: Joanne Jaytanie hit the ground running with this series. The first gives those that follow a lot to live up to. With characters that are multidimensional and a plot that moves quickly and smoothly from scene to scene. Once you begin reading you will not want to put this book down. Chasing Victory has something for everyone, romance, paranormal aspects, intrigue, suspense, action, adventure, evil sociopaths with megalomaniac tendencies, heroes willing to give everything to protect those they love and dobermans. Some how Jaytanie manages to meld all these aspect to bring the reader a story that draws you in and makes you feel you are a part of the story. My rating is 4.5 out of 5 stars. I look forward to reading "Peyton's Pursuit" to see where this series goes next.

Victory had an ultra keen sense of hearing. She could also interpret the reactions of animals. There had been a sudden break in the forest’s tapestry. Victory heard Jeff’s voice and then Detective Ken Howard who was a homicide detective. Who had the investigation of Victory’s friend Lisa Evans who was found murdered in the parking garage. There was a thug with The detective Howard who killed Jeffery . Victory knew she could let no one know she had known Jeffery and was suppose to have met him as she ran. Jeffery and Victory had been inseparable in college and then one week before graduation Jeffery was approached by a corporate man and went Jeffery went with him for the money. It had been five years since Victory heard from Jeffery then he called her asking if she would meet him. Ariel agreed as she still felt an emotional bond to Jeffery. Now Ariel knew she had to disappear until she knew what was going on and she couldn’t leave a paper trail. Victory headed to meet up with her sister Payton. Jeffery had been Tristan’s only lead until Tristan picked up Victory’s scent. Tristan was a former Navy Seal was now ranked as a commander and lead team Alpha. - a secret special ops operation. Wyatt was his boss and older brother. Six months ago Tristan and Wyatt were transferred to these positions. Captain Roberts was now the general in charge of SOCOM - the secret special ops operation Roberts wanted to form a special team using military personnel who displayed more advanced instincts. Victory was a veterinarian and geneticist and specializes in molecular biology and works for Claremont Research.Dave Anderson and Jerry Jeenis were down the block from the fairgrounds where Victory was with her sister Payton for a dog show. They were waiting for Max to return from recon. Jerry was the person who had killed Jeffery. They want Victory and her research. Victory is blackmailed into working for them and taken to an island paradise. I absolutely loved this story. I loved the plot. I also got caught up in the story from the very beginning and stayed that way until the end of the story. I was glad Victory had Tristan on her side that is for sure. I also loved how her sister Payton was immediately there for Victory. I loved the dog in this story it added to the story for me. I really found nothing wrong with this story. I loved the characters and the ins and outs and I highly recommend.
