Checkout Girl: A Life Behind the Register by Anna Sam

My name is Anna. I'm 31 years old with a degree in literature and a life story that is both completely ordinary and a little bit unusual

Former cashier Anna Sam offers an insider's peek at what really goes on behind the register. In the wise and witty voice of the college-educated, underpaid retail worker, Sam comments on everything from ill-cut uniforms, to drunken customers, to Express Lane tricks. Filled with hilarious and hair-raising observations, Checkout Girl is a great gift for anyone who has ever been, or had an encounter with, a supermarket cashier.

Checkout : A Life On The Tills is Anna's true story on all the helpful hints on how to survive working at a supermarket. With hints like how to deal with nice to downright mean customers and how to deal with managers that are sometimes are just looking out for themselves. Anna lasted 8 years working there, doing a common job and gives everyone a look at what really happens at the supermarket! This book had me laughing at what she went through and all the stupid things that people tried to pull. I was a quick read but it was full of laughter and it gives a sense of what working in a supermarket is like. It may have happened overseas but you can still get what she is trying to say without it being to hard to understand. Thank You to Anna Sam for telling your side of the story of what really happens in a supermarket! I received this book from the Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

I guess when I bough this book I was expecting something completley different. It has a few moments of humor but other then that I felt like the book was just giving me he do's and don'ts of being a "checkout girl". Plus it is only like 128 pages for $3.99! Overall I would not recommend this book unless you are considering becoming a cashier.
