Chiastic Slide is a masterpiece. Each track runs together like a symphony of paranoid, eerie, occasionaly groovy, and sometimes beautiful techno. The first song, Cipater is one of my personal favorites, but my absolute favorite would be Tewe. The song is just plain scary with its subtle melody that creates an almost frightening atmosphere. That and all of the rolling, rattling, clicking percussion creates the epihany of paranoid techno. Cipater actually has a very danceable beat for the first two and a half minutes until a repeating note grows and kind of interrupts the beat. Then, unexpectadly, it changes tempo and mixes the same beat to kind of a rolling, scratchy mix, adding subtle pings that kind of sound like a Clint Eastwood interesting and very cool touch. From track one to nine, this album never ceases to amaze me, sounding very different every time I listen...which is VERY OFTEN! Sean Booth and Rob Brown have done it again!!
