This is an actual transcript of the 1969 trial of the Chicago 7. This book will take you inside the courtroom. Read what Abbie Hoffman actually said- not just a summary. It includes testimony from Rennie Davis, Bobby Seale, Phil Ochs, Allen Ginserg, Timothy Leary, and more. At times hysterical- but also troubling. Read the judge's clear preference for the prosecution. The lead-in at the beginning of the book gives a very good overview of significant movements and groups, describing the sixties, and setting the tone for the trial. I remember watching the 1968 Democratic Convention police riot on tv, and reading about the ensuing trial. But this takes you into the courtroom with the defendants.
