Chick and the Homestead Chickens of Grymme Creek Hollow
Deep in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas in a place known as Grymme Creek Hollow was an abandoned homestead. Of course, being abandoned did not mean it was uninhabited. It was only abandoned in the sense that the original owner was long gone. This homestead was home to a chick named Chick. He was named Chick because his parents were not very imaginative. Chick, on the other hand, was very imaginative and had a real talent for finding adventure.

About the Author

David Boyett lives in Williams Junction Arkansas with his wife Virginia. He works full-time looking after his chickens, dogs and cats but mostly chickens. He is the founder and owner of D. V. B. Nonprofit Chicken Ranch, which despite its name is not a 501 (c) (3) charity. It’s just he hasn’t made a profit since 2006 and is darn proud of it. He does not think of his as just animals, nor does he think of them as pets or his babies. They are regarded as employees and as such they are afforded the rights the same as any working person. The hens organized themselves into a union. All hens as well as roosters are members of the Backyard Chicken Laborers Union Local # 1.
