CHICKENSHIT FARM is a satirical novel about the Giles family and the people who live on their small farm. They have a rooted aversion to paying tax and have avoided doing so for generations. Now Jane Probert, an Inland Revenue investigator is given the job of bringing them to book. In doing so her own life gets tangled up with the convoluted lives of the farm's inhabitants, who do their best to pull the wool over her eyes. Guess whether the government gets its money.
The author knows nothing about farming and the workings of the tax system are as much a mystery to him as they are to its practitioners. Try to remember this is a work of fiction. Everything in it is imaginary.
