Childe Hassam : American Impressionist based on 0 ratings. 2 reviews.
Childe Hassam and Twachtman may be the least well-known names in Impressionism. True, the French took center stage, but Hassam gave impressionist art his very own American slant and enriched it. The book has abundant color plates, a rich and detailed biographical account of Hassam's development and maturation as an artist and sufficient detailed analysis to make your inquiry worthwhile. At this price, it would be difficult to find a better resource!
I found this book absolutely wonderful. Though in paperback, this does not lose its value at all. It is rich in color plates. I loved the artist who was new to me. Most of the paintings are of New York in the late 1800s, some are of the European cities. Really charming, highly recommend this artist and this book
