Chill by Stephanie Rowe

Alaskan bush pilot Luke Webber is all male: rugged and tough, a man whose loyalty is as ruthless and fierce as the storms that ravage the untamed wilderness he claims as his home. Isabella Kopas burns with a passion for those she loves, and not even a bullet in her shoulder and a deadly assassin in pursuit can keep her from fighting for the life of the only family she has left. Intense and undeniable fire ignites between them the moment Isabella stumbles into Luke's life, but the nightmare she brings with her will push them to the limits of the passion pounding so desperately in their souls.

NOTE: CHILL was originally released in print in 2009 by Dorchester Publishing, and it has been substantially revised and reissued as an ebook. The novel is approximately 350 pages, and there are excerpts from other books by the author in the back of the book.

I loved this book! I was biting my nails during because I was worried about what was going to happen to Luke and Isa. Even though it's a suspended novel there is still that romance that I adore in there. There are people from Ice (the first book in the Alaska Heat series) and it introduces some new characters that will hopefully have a story too (hint, hint). Great action from start to finish and of course it's a HEA like I love!!!

CHILL is a riveting story of danger, betrayal, intrigue and the healing powers of love. Beyond their initial attraction, Luke and Isabella find they have a lot in common. However, many of the things that bring them together revolve around the past Luke wants and needs to forget. To save Isabella he is forced to face the demons of this past. Ever the reluctant hero, Luke returns to his father’s Boston home because Isa has quickly become more important to him than his new life in Alaska. Their fight against those who’ve ruined both their lives is a harrowing battle to the death which leaves them finally able to enjoy a threat-free future, together. Rowe captures the dangers of Alaska and the nature of the people there so well that someone who’s never ventured anywhere West can get a full appreciation for the harsh life and strong inhabitants. With equal finesse, she takes us to the art world of Boston and the lifestyle of wealthy art collectors. Her characters are wonderfully flawed and totally redeemable. She builds the suspense in a way that makes the reader experience the same tension the characters do. You’ll cheer for Luke and Isabella to find the means to overcome their very different pasts, the current threats to them and their own stubbornness so they can find the peace they both deserve. CHILL has everything a reader needs – death, threats, thefts, attraction and hot, sweet romance. Reviewed By: Jeanne Stone-Hunter for MY BOOK ADDICTION AND MORE REVIEWS

What an exciting second installment to Stephanie Rowe's Alaskan romance's. Luke was a bush pilot that had trouble walk into the door. But then again, Luke isn't who he says he is. He ran away from his past and it looks like it has caught up with him. Isabella ran away from some dangerous stuff; right into the arms of Luke. She bought the past that he was so desperate to avoid. Most dangerous than either could imagine. Twists, turns, hotness, truths finally revealed and a tearful reunion. A must read!

Luke Webber ran away from his affluent slick past to change his lifestyle as he hated what he was doing. He is happy being a bush pilot in Alaska. No one asks about his past and people seem to genuinely care for one another; they have your back. Luke is upset when slick dressing Isabella Kopas in her four digit priced gown arrives as a reminder of his past and Marcus Fie; especially the bullet in her shoulder. He recognizes the hoodlums chasing her as he used to be one of them. However, Luke fears for his new friends especially his crazy partner as he knows firsthand that acceptable collateral damage from his old crowd is the norm. Although over the top of Mount McKinley, no one will care as Chill grips the audience from the moment Luke flies into trouble and never lands until the final confrontation with his former peers from his past. The story line is action-packed even before Isabella flees for her life and as Luke struggles to keep Isabella and his Alaskan cronies safe from his former associates. Think of Grosse Point Blank without the satirical spin in Alaska. Harriet Klausner
