Another cozy mystery and a fun series to read!
I read the first book 'Southern Peach Pie and a Dead Guy' and really thought it wasn't going to be for me but I loved it and this one is just as good. The main character, Poppy, is funny and relatable as are the rest of the characters in both books. There is real mystery, a lot of laughing and great tips on baking without going overboard as some culinary series do at times. So whether you're a fan of baking or not you'll still be able to enjoy this book.
I love books about food, mystery and an interesting main character! Poppy Peters is definitely an interesting person with some really bad luck! She won an internship in Paris at a shop that is well known for its pastries. Le Croissant is an interns dream job or so Poppy thought! She has a special assignment to help out with the wedding cake for a n important wedding in England. It does not turn out the way she expected! What's really bad is she kind of knew the groom... Can't tell you more, don't want any spoilers! This is a very well written book with a strong main character and a fantastic storyline. You'll be kept guessing throughout the book as to who the murder is. I haven't read the first book and had no problems with starting a series with the second book. I'd suggest this to anyone who enjoys a good mystery & good food! I do however wish that it wouldn't make me so hungry! Lol!
So much fun! A wee bit of romance turns into a murderous internship in romantic Paris, France for Poppy. She's young and innocent intern who learns and develops and provides strength to the victims around her just in time. I need to read the first book now. Thank you for a quick weekend read!
