Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water

It's hard to compete with the unadulterated poetry of a line like, "I did it all for the nookie, so you can take that cookie and stick it up your yeah!" from the multi-platinum album Significant Other. But Limp Bizkit thrive under pressure and relish the chance to challenge -- or at least piss off -- both fans and critics. The band's third disc, Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water, quickly bursts into confrontational mode on "Hot Dog," with vocalist Fred Durst saying the "F" word more than 30 times before taking a dig at Trent Reznor. From there, Durst attacks shit-talkers, backstabbers, unfaithful women, and journalists. Even the album title sounds like a snide satire of a pompous album title like Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Durst's lyrical tirades are so fierce they threaten to obscure the music, which is pretty funkin' phat. Like Significant Other, this album is rooted in groove-laden rap-metal, but this time around the Bizkit downplay distorted bombast, focusing more on Wes Borland's galactic guitar squiggles, John Otto's hip-hop beats, and DJ Lethal's creative scratching. The caustic tracks "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" and "Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle)" are bolstered by guest raps by DMX, Method Man, and Redman, and "Getcha Groove On" benefits from an appearance by Xzibit. But it's creative cuts such as "Livin' It Up" (which samples the Eagles' "Life in the Fast Lane") and "Hold On" (which includes some unexpected CSNY-style vocal harmonies) that make The Hot Dog Flavored Water truly tasty.

in 97 when limp bizkit brought theyre first cd out they were the most popular rock band in 98 they brouht out significant other which was theyre worst cd yet and 2000 Chocolate Starfish And The Hotdog Flavored Water is there best cd yet it has a mix of rap and rock which i think will be good for the music industry

Don't get me wrong, I love Limp Bizkit's old stuff but i'm most certainly not a fan of their new stuff. Their new stuff is weak, they've gone against everything they used to talk about and kissed some posterior. They also denied the hand that feeds them by dissing on koRn, they would be nothing without them. I also want to say that Fred Durst is NOT the most beautiful man on this earth, he's a short, bald man and if you like the music cause you think that the lead singer is ''hot'' then you need to make some reconsiderations. Bands should be appreciated for the music they make, NOT their looks. Limp Bizkit is way over rated and their not worth the one star I did give them.

Limp's third CD ''Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water'' is a very good cd, but not an awesome one. The two singles Rollin and My Generation are by far the best songs on the cd. The rest are just average. So I say if your a Limp fan, go get this one, but if you just like the two singles then you should probably pass.

Ok, so u think that Limp Bizkit is hard core, and has no realy meaning? WRONG! They send out a message, and a posative one at that. There one song on the cd, the one, talks about how ur always looking for the perfect person, but u never find them. Yet if u give up, ur never gona find them. So that person u c standing across the room at a party, he/she may be the one.

I've been waiting for this album for so long this is the best CD ever.I keep playing it My Generation,Rollin',& Take A Look Around are the best.Catchy beat great lyrics reccomend to any die hard Limp Bizkit fan.

Limp Bizkit is probably one of the worst bands ever, and either this or their newest one could rate as worst album. None of the band members have any talent whatsoever, everything just revolves around their pathetic, sellout white rapper wannabe frontman. It's truly hard to believe how low metal has sunk in a single generation.

Their new CD is better than the other two, if that's even possible. The title is quite interesting but very original and unique to any other group, band, or singer out right now. I recommend that anyone try any one out of LB's three albums out...because the content of the CDs is all great, awesome material that will keep you rocking until their next release, where they will probably outdo themselves once again. Keep on ruling the world, Limp!!!

The cd is great. If you feel their tone, you will really like the new album. It is a good mix, and I'm so glad they added the MI:2 theme song ''Take a Look Around.'' I'll tell you, I wasn't really into Limp Bizkit before, but the new CD has really gotten me into it.

Limp Bizkit is awesome! I am one of the many people who limp with da Bizkit! Hot dog, which has 48 curses (I counted), My generation which Fred Durst expresses his seriousness over his generation, full nelson when he gets tired of when someone talks behind his back, and all the other songs especially my way and rolling which are da bomb! In track 15, Ben Stiller even likes it! If Ben Stiller likes it, ya better like it! The money is worth it if ya family can't get on napster, cause napster sux after taking off the copyrighted songs, so go on this site and get Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog flavored water! That name is so cool!Plus ya all will like the cover, it's fat! So keep rolling, rolling on and get this album today! Ya won't regret it!

They've come a long way. But Rollin is a song that seems to have been put together in a matter of minutes. The beat is catchy, wes plays great as usual. But don't expect a lot out of this record folks.

this CD is one of the best ive listened to in a long time, if your down with the bizkit or if you just like hard rock this is a must buy, you cant help but laugh at the lyrics, well written and while being funny put across a serious message only discovered on track 15, well worth the money

This CD kicks major butt! This Cd is compiled with awesome guest appearences by DMX and others and should be a CD remembered for a long time. Although ''Significant Other'' was their only other major smash, Limp Bizkit should keep kicking butt in the music industry.

whilst begining with two amazing albums it would appear limp bizkit have fallen into the same line as other popular acts. following in the lines of bands such as korn they have simply lost it as a result of stardom. whilst rollin isnt a half bad track the album greatly disappoints. lets see if the new stars papa roach do the same shall we? keep your eyes peeled for tomorrows stars murdock, hailing from devon they boast a fresh sound and catchy tunes.

My review for this CD is that I give it 4 stars. I give it 4 stars because It has a great sound. I especially love the song Livin it up. also the main track Hot Dog. The content on the non-edited CD is only good for people ages 13 on up. otherwise, it is not appropriate. The Clean version is ok for ages 10 on up. I give it only 4 stars because some of the songs have the same sort of beat, and sound somewhat the same. otherwise it is a great CD.
