I was pleasantly surprised by this book. All three stories were well written. I purchased this as aquick read for when I was at the doctors. I ended totally oblivious to everything and couldn't wait to finish it. I then went and bought three more of Ms. Bolen's books. I now found a new author to watch for. Ihope this was helpful.

This was such a wonderful book to read during the holidays as it consisted of three novellas that could be read in a couple of sittings, and they gave me the uplifting and relaxation that I needed during this hectic time. The first novella, The Christmas Wish, was a delightful love story about childhood friends who became more to each other later in life. The second novella, Home for Christmas, was another lovely story about a soldier returning from war, hoping to find the lady he had dreamed about for so long, only to find another who meant the world to him. The third novella, Christmas at Farley Manor, was the novella I enjoyed most of all, a story about a man who took a chance and married a female stranger to take care of his illegitimate daughter while he was away at war, only to fall in love with her when he returned. I highly recommend this holiday book to readers.

I did enjoy these three novellas by Ms. Bolen. The characters were well developed and I found myself rooting for them to find love - which of course they all did. I would recommend this for a few quick holiday reads.

"Christmas Brides" Overall Actually, I really enjoyed each of the three stories in this collection. Christmas at Farley manor was my favorite I think. All three stories had delightfully developed characters and were filled with sweet romance. This was my first experience in listening to the narrator, Rosalind Ashford. She has a lovely voice and pleasant pronunciation of the language of the time. The only think I had difficulty getting use to was the cadence of her inflection. I know you is extremely talented, but it just felt rather monotone in my opinion. I will say that by the 3rd story, it didn't bother me as much as the first two, perhaps it is just a matter of what you are use to. I'd still tell my friends to definitely read the books, and listen to the sample audio version. As I said, she has a lovely voice and obvious talent in her enunciation of languages. I personally just had to get use to her cadence. Others may not find that to be the case. These novellas are well worth checking out.

What a delightful Christmas surprise! Each story brought thoughtful recognition of everything Christmas should be. Romance with the idea of giving rather than receiving as the true theme in a love story. The last story deserved all the accolades that it has won. A soldier as the hero has always won my heart and this one did not disappoint. I won't soon forget such sweet Christmas novellas. Reviewed by Tommie Mead

Sweet sweet and sweet! Liked all three. No question that sex is the end  point of love but descrisptions not too graphic for this old lady.

I enjoyed the three novellas from the first word and had to read it quickly to get to each ending. Then I read each slowly to savor each one word by word like a favorite dessert for my brain. Each bride does not expect to find true love during the holiday season but receives this precious gift, each under unexpected circumstances that makes this book a great read not only for the holiday but for every day of ones life.
