SABOTAGE AT SEA

On his cousin's Christmas cruise wedding, navy SEAL Jordan Somerton anticipated having the typical best man duties—not facing down criminals boarding the ship. But when the luxury liner is infiltrated by men determined to kidnap the flower girl, he's plunged into an unexpected mission. Maid of honor and DEA agent Amy Delgado hasn't forgiven Jordan for a misunderstanding in their pasts. But with her young niece targeted, she must draw on Jordan's skills as a protector. Signs point to an inside job. With a traitor in their midst, can they ensure that every passenger returns home safely for the holidays…even as they find love amid deepening danger?

This one is a nail-bitter. From the beginning until the end you never knew what was going to happen. Amy is a strong woman, who will do what needs to be done to protect those she loves and Jordan is a strong man that will do what needs to be done to protect those HE loves, even those he doesn't realize he might love. If you are looking for a suspenseful Christmas read, this one is for you.

This was such an awesome book. I was hooked from the very first page, and couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next. I felt like I was on an adventure and loved every minute of it. I enjoyed watching how the characters reacted to each other and seeing their relationships. Jordan and Amy had a history and I loved how we were able to see little bits of it throughout the story. This book follows the two of them as they are on a cruise ship for Neesha’s wedding. Dancing together as best man and maid of honor just might end up being the least of their worries. Jordan loves his family. Even if at times their meddling has caused more than a little stress. Hoping that everyone will be focused on his cousin and her soon to be husband, he hopes he can sit back and relax. Seeing Amy all dressed up and beautiful, just might throw a wrench in his plans. When criminals set their sights on the flower girl all his feelings are thrown aside. Can Jordan and Amy get along for long enough to find who’s behind the danger? Or are there more sinister plans in motion that the criminals will do anything to make sure they are successful? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great suspenseful read. I was kept on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who was causing so many problems and why. It was fun seeing Amy and Jordan learn to lean on each other. I liked watching as they struggled with forgiveness and learning to let go of the past to see what is right in front of you. I received a copy of this book from the author and was in no way obligated to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Liz Johnson packs a load of suspense, intrigue, action, and a dash of heart-pumping romance into the last book in her Men of Valor series, Christmas Captive. The main characters, navy SEAL Jordan Somerton and DEA agent Amy Delgado, have a past which complicates their involvement in the wedding taking place on a cruise ship. The action jumped right in at the beginning of the story and kept me on the edge of my seat until the conclusion. The story was well written and kept me guessing who the “bad guys” were. This is part of a series, but can easily be read as a stand-alone book. I would recommend it to those who enjoy well-written, clean, Christian romantic suspense. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from the author/publisher. All opinions are my own.

CHRISTMAS CAPTIVE is the sixth book in Ms. Johnson's Men of Valor book but it completely stands alone. Other books in the series (in case you want to read them all are: A Promise to Protect, SEAL Under Siege, Navy SEAL Noel, Navy SEAL Security, Hazardous Holiday and CHRISTMAS CAPTIVE. This is definitely a page-turner. And I didn't guess who was behind the attacks, though I did have some suspicions. I fell in love with both Jordan and Amy. They were both hurting characters with a lot to overcome, a lot on their plate, and only days to end a mission they didn't know they were on in advance. I loved, loved, loved, the Coast Guard presence in this book and almost cheered when the call came. "This is the United States Coast Guard. Prepare to be boarded." If you like Romantic Suspense, you will want to read CHRISTMAS CAPTIVE. I was given a copy of this book free. All opinions are my own.

Great suspenseful read! It is a quick entertaining read, pulling the reader into the action within the first couple of pages. Amy and Jordan, both agents for exclusive government agencies, are working to rescue a little girl from terrorist. They have to put aside past hurts and misconceptions in this race against time. While Liz Johnson is not a new author to me, this is the first book in The Men of Valor series I have read. This can easily be read as a stand-alone. Ms. Johnson is a master at telling a complete story in, what is for me, a shorter novel. I tend to read mostly historical fiction, but it was nice to go back to one of my first loves, a nice action-packed mystery. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

There are maybe four or five pages in this novel before the action starts and it keeps right on coming! Liz Johnson is great here. A DEA agent and SEAL try to stop a kidnapping on board a cruise ship. Nowhere to go, not many places to hide, and seemingly no help to be had. What a ride! Recommended. *I was given a preview copy of this book. My opinion is entirely my own.
