I LOVE this book. A beautifully written, sweetly simply story of the nativity. I have read this to my daughter every year since she was born and it brings a tear to my eye every time I read it. Makes a great baby's first Christmas gift.

A board book with colorful, simple drawings for the story of the birth of Jesus. I bought it as a gift for a 2 and 3 year old granddaughter. I think it would be better for younger children under 2, as the story line is quite simple. A nice sturdy board book for a baby's first Christmas perhaps.

I wanted a book that would help me teach the reason for Christmas, and this book is perfect. It is a BEAUTIFUL book. Even the illustrations capture details of the story. I plan to keep this book in my personal library even after my children are grown.

I love this book--I began reading it to my girls when they were babies, and have read it over and over every year (they are now 7 & 9). It is beautiful!

This book is great. I bought this for my 18 month old daughter a few weeks before Christmas. I wanted a story about Christmas, not Santa. It tells the real story of Christmas through short rhymes regarding the main characters who were in the manger. It's wonderful. And it wasn't overly religious which I liked. However, it still kept with the real meaning of Christmas. My daughter had me read this book hundreds of times, and would even sit alone and flip through the pages herself. As a matter of fact she recently discovered it among her other books and we are reading it again. Buy it!

The book is about 5 pages long, with approx 7-8 words per page. I thought this was a 'touch and feel' book after I read the first summary above (pat the donkey, etc) - it is not. The pictures do not have vivid colors. Storyline is wonderful, of course.
