Mix a sexy, confirmed bachelor with a exiled party-girl with a secret, toss in a snow boarding accident and a deception they can't get out of, and you have all the ingredients for a fun and interesting romance. It started out simply enough: Sean bumps into Zoe, they click immediately, and he asks her to help keep the heat off him this Thanksgiving by posing as his girlfriend at the turkey dinner. After okaying it with his mom, they hit the slopes. And that's where things get sticky. Sean has an accident that lands him in the hospital, and Zoe is welcomed as one of the family in the waiting room and suddenly the deception becomes near reality. All the family and friends who interferred and stuck their noses in and alternately encouraged and teased Sean and Zoe made me smile all the way through this book. As much as I enjoyed the romance, their family and friends really made the story. I completely enjoyed watching Sean and Zoe fall for each other despite significant obstacles on both sides. Sean, surprisingly, seemed to be the one least resistant to the relationship especially considering his reputation as a ladies man. He's such a great guy: funny, sexy, successful. I fell really hard for him and could completely understand why Zoe had such a difficult time ignoring her growing feelings. Zoe was another story entirely. As a member of a powerful political family whose been exiled from public view for being an embarrassment, she finds herself in the midst of many "firsts". Watching her learn and change and grow as a person was one of the most delightful parts of this book. Add in some steamy sexual tension between our hero and heroine and you have everything needed for an amazingly good holiday story with a tender happy ever after. With throngs of secondary characters that made it a solid read, I have only one thing to say: who gets the next story, Ms. McClone? I'm standing in line waiting.
