I got this CD when it first came out and it it still be favorite Christmas CD still. Michaed Ball is best know for his stage work in the London theater and has a very large following of fans. His voice is pure, strong and he can really hit those high notes. If you like Michael Crawford, then you will like Michael Ball. Buy this CD you will not be disappointed and will enjoy this CD for years to come.

Michael is one of the most charismatic singers/actors of our time. His ''Ave Maria'' is opera quality. I don't understand why the USA hasn't picked up on his talent. Great Britain certainly has. I have all of his work even though I had to order it from Great Britain to get most of it.

If you're looking for something a little unique for holiday music this year, treat yourself (and your friends!) to Britain's Michael Ball's Christmas CD. His incredible voice has power, range, and that slightly tremulous vibratto that brings chills to us all. He sings ''O Holy Night'' and ''Ave Maria'', oh yes, and they bring tears to my eyes; he sings a duet with Elaine Page (also an Andrew Lloyd Webber artist) in ''As Long as There's Christmas''... he surprises with his upbeat ''Driving Home for Christmas'' and also with Joni Mitchell's wistful ''River''. There is Abba's ''Happy New Year'' and then ''Light a Candle'', a sweet and poignant song that he wrote. If you haven't heard of him (and what rock do you live under?!) you will be MOST pleasantly surprised with this CD AND most likely an instant FAN!

I have owned this cd since it came out, and I can honestly say it's the, "best-kept secret", in terms of Christmas cd's available. Since he's British and not pushed as much as he should be in the U.S., many people don't know who he is or what they're missing out on. Michael has one of the best voices in the world and on this Christmas recording, he truly shines and distinguishes himself as having one of the best singing voices in the world. He naturally and effortlessly gives the songs more meaning and depth than other singers with his powerful voice and the way he delivers the songs so beautifully. My whole family thoroughly enjoyed listening to this cd last Christmas. We never got tired of playing it. HIGHLY recommended to everyone!

I had not heard of Michael Ball until I listened to Sounds of the Season on the TV music channel. Driving Home for Christmas is my kind of music and I'll probably play it daily and then some.

Ball's vibrato sounds like he's nervous someone is going to push him off a cliff. He can do one thing only well, and that is sing loud. Unfortunately, you can't do that when you're singing some beautiful sweet Christmas songs. How did this man become famous. Well, he's not THAT famous. I know why.
