About the Author

USA TODAY best selling author Tracey Alvarez lives in the Coolest Little Capital in the World (a.k.a Wellington, New Zealand). Married to a wonderfully supportive IT guy, she has two teens who would love to be surgically linked to their electronic devices.

Fuelled by copious amounts of coffee, she's the author of contemporary romantic fiction set predominantly in New Zealand. Small-towns, close communities, and families are a big part of the heart-warming stories she writes. Oh, and hot, down-to-earth heroes--Kiwi men, in other words.

When she's not writing, thinking about writing, or procrastinating about writing, Tracey can be found with her nose in her e-reader, nibbling on smuggled chocolate bars, or bribing her kids to take over the housework.

Christmas With You is book four in the Due South series by Tracey Alvarez. This book was generously provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. Kip Sullivan has been in Oban for two years and is the bartender at Due South. He loves his life here with this community that has accepted him as one of their own. He moved hundreds of miles away from his family and the legacy he was supposed to inherit, a dairy farm. None of his now adult sisters were interested in taking over the farm so it fell to his parent’s only son. It is not what Kip wanted, though, the solitary life getting up before dawn and working in the barns all day. Carly Gatlin is Del Westlake’s step sister. Now with Del gone, Carly doesn’t have anyone left in Los Angeles. So she packs up and moves thousands of miles across the world to be near her step mom, Del, and to try to establish a relationship with her oldest step brother, West. It’s summer in the land down under, and no matter how hard Carly is trying to fit in with the Westlakes and Harlands, she is lonely. She misses her Dad and the holiday traditions they had. There is also the attraction she is feeling for the oh so sexy bartender, Kip. She has no idea if he is feeling any attraction to her until the day she fell off the ladder trying to hang mistletoe in Due South, and fell right on top of him. “She didn’t belong with the Harlands. She didn’t belong with the Westlakes. And she sure didn’t belong with the Sullivans.” Kip hasn’t seen his family since he moved away two years ago. So this year his family decided that if he won’t come to them, they will go to him, every…single…one…of…them! Parent, sisters, brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews, all of them, descended on Oban and Kip boiling over with Christmas cheer. They instantly love Carly and matchmaking ideas are instantly forming in their minds. They are also determined that Carly will have a wonderful, family filled Christmas. “Operation Carly’s Special Christmas” is born. “The problem was, he wasn’t just attracted to Carly; he cared about her. Too much. She’d burrowed inside him and taken hold in a way he’d never experienced.” Kip and Carly can only fight the chemistry for so long, add in lots of holiday filled family time with Kip’s family, and a day with Kip playing sexy Santa with Carly as his adorable helper, and they just can’t fight it any more. This was such a sweet addition to this series. We met Carly in the previous book but it was so wonderful to get to know her. She has such a sunny disposition and the Westlakes can’t resist her for long. And Kip, sigh. I am sure a big portion of the customers in Due South’s bar are there for the sexy bartender. It was so wonderful to experience a New Zealand Christmas with these families I have grown so much to love. I look forward to reading the next book, My Forever Valentine which is book five in the Due South series.

Christmas Missions Kip Sullivan, local charmer and bartender at Due South, left home 2 years ago to get away from him family and their expectations. You might remember him from Melting Into You, Shaye won him at auction. Christmas season has come and his entire extended family has descended on Stewart Island to celebrate his birthday, Christmas, and ring in the New Year. Carly Gatlin, stepsister to West and Del, has always wished for the warmth of family. She lost her mother at a young age, and when her father remarried, she gained a new mother and brothers. Her father has recently passed away and the remainder of her family on Stewart Island, she doesn’t want to be alone in LA. Christmas has always been a special holiday for Carly and her father, which makes it difficult for her now that he’s gone. Having always wished to be part of a family, Carly is thrilled to be enveloped in the folds of the Sullivan family’s boisterous chaos. As a man, with five sisters, Kip can sense that Carly is feeling lonely. When he learns of why she now doesn’t celebrate Christmas he makes it a point to make sure she accomplishes all six of her Christmas Missions, with the help of his family of course. Christmas is a magical time of year and anything can happen. Christmas With You is more of a novella. I still loved the story and Tracey continues to create well developed characters that stay with you long after the last page. I am seriously thinking of employing the Christmas Missions when I have kids of my own. I especially love the idea of the Christmas beans. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

This series is INSANELY good. I could gush buckets about it all day. This book is every bit as brilliant as the other books in this series. I already loved Carly from Ready to Burn and I was looking forward to her story. Kip has been mentioned in some of the other books as a bit of a ladies man but we didn't know much else about him. Turns out, he is a really decent guy, and much less of the ladies man than most people think. Having grown up in a house full of girls, he knows how to relate to women and he is sensitive and caring. He is also HOTT (extra T worthy as Wendy Higgins would say) and Carly has been trying to avoid falling for him. All that changes when his delightful family turn up at Christmas time and set about match-making. Tons of wonderful dialog and plenty of LOL moments make this a joy to read. Tracey has an amazing ability to take a plot that could be considered quite simple and transform it into something magical and special. Another sensational read. My only complaint is that it was too short and I could easily have devoured more. I'm a major convert now and I know I will continue to read this author's work.

Christmas With You was a super sweet, heartwarming story, perfect for the holidays. Of course I was going to love it because I already love all the characters from this series, but even readers who aren't familiar with the Due South series can still enjoy this novella.  I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic Christmas story. If you've read other books by this author then you probably already know you can't go wrong with her.  After reading Ready to Burn I felt kind of bad for Carly so I'm really glad she got her happily ever after. Carly and Kip were a perfect match and the Christmas theme suited them so well.  *I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Tracey Alvarez has the ability to create characters with depth and worthy obstacles to overcome while they are falling in love. As part of the Due South series this novella tells the story of Kip the bartender and Carly the stepsister of two brothers that have starred in previous Due South books. The attraction is strong and believable, the scenes well crafted and entertaining; the problems of Kip and Carly that must be overcome are often faced by real people and the story in its entirety a true delight. 4.5 stars

Mission: Christmas and romance, getting in the mood. Mission accomplished in this contemporary romance between Carly and Kip. All set in New Zealand, the land of the long white clouds, this romance is sweet and sexy. And Christamasy to boot...

Finding Love Carly moved to New Zealand to be close to her step family after her father passed away. She works at the hotel owned by her step brothers. Kip is a bartender there. They kinda fell into each other while decorating. His family comes to visit for the holidays & try to make it good for her.

Fun sweet read with enough twists and humor to keep the reader interested until the inevitable end. I had a great time reading about a sunny hot Christmas sitting here where there was a -47 wind chill last night, the hot scenes warmed me right up!

Short - 0nly 133 nook pages... But, a complete story and one we should all read... Filled with human kindness, love and lots of emotion this is a very sweet story and so good on so many levels... Recommend highly... Helps if you have read the first three books in the series but not totally necessary... Loved Carly and Kip... Love the New Zealand setting and the language of this series... Very good!

My heart broke for Carly in this one. She was trying so hard to find her place after she lost her dad and it certainly wasn't easy for her, especially during her first Christmas without him. It was nice to see her with some happiness during the holiday season and as she grew to become a part of the Stewart Island family! I love love love this series and find myself re-reading every book (even though I normally don't like re-reading books!) My only complaint was that this book was too short! I could read about Carly and Kip for days!

"R" rated romance The author could not write many pages without profanity - crude profanity and sexual situations. A story? Yes but one has to get pass the objections made above.
