Ed Williams spins a yarn full of rowdy southern humor and true, down-home Christmas spirit. If I want to head back home to Georgia, all I have to do is open Ed Williams' book, ChristmaSin', and then watch the clock turn back 40 years or so. Ed was always entertaining, even when we were kids, and he has taken all of that insane and glorious southern charm and humor and packed it into the pages of this book. If you ever wanted to be the popular football player smooching on the back seat of the bus, or maybe the popular girl that was being kissed, or if you always wanted to attend a good southern cock fight, or sling some good ol' red Georgia clay at your brother, here is your chance! Ed's descriptive passages make you feel like you have experienced it all. He has a way with words like no one else, and if you let him, he will even take you to a Thanksgiving dinner at his grandmother's table that you will never forget. Miss Lily was very special and I always loved her. And, I love how Ed has captured the very essence of her so we will always remember what a true southern lady she was. The mind of a teenage boy can be a strange thing, but the man that Ed was to become shines through as he tells the tale of what Christmas is really all about. This is a story of youth, uncertainty, compassion, fear, humor, joy, and yes, even love. All kinds of love abounds, then and now, in the little village of Juliette, Georgia. Won't you take off your hat, sit a spell, have one of Miss Lily's biscuits, and listen to the tales of the Williams clan for just a bit? You'll be glad you did!
