Chrystal's Castle by Mi-Leing

This story relates to child molestation, written as a fairy-tale, about an abused princess named Chrystal. Intended to aid abused children realize that their secrets NEED to be told, it instructs how this can be done without fear of repercussion. Also, while raising awareness about sexual predators to all young girls & boys, the plot describes how: 1) they CAN and MUST seek immediate help, should they become victims, 2) there is no shame in telling, 3) the lies and threats told to them by their predators are not true, and 4) they are not alone in their experience. Written in the style of Dr. Seuss (with rhyme) with attractive color illustrations, this is a fascinating story that children will want to hear repeatedly. A "Good Touch/Bad Touch" guide follows, at the end of the book. Due to the targeted age range, the story does not contain language or situations that explicitly describe acts of a sexual nature. Ideal for pre-school & elementary school children as a read-aloud classroom or bed-time story.

¿Chrystal¿s Castle¿ is an absolutely AWESOME story that doesn¿t hold anything back! No longer withholding secrets from her own past as a former victim, Mi-Leing is telling kids that they need not be helpless victims to child molesters. She talks to the kids in their own language, tells them what to avoid, and in the worst case scenario, how to get help. This story has all the ingredients to capture the attention of the crowd who needs to hear it the most. In a fairytale fashion that kids are charmed by, they¿re told 'in a non-scary, non-threatening manner' how to avoid becoming prey to a pedophile. Written in very appealing dactylic tetrameter, this is a tale that will want to be heard over and over and over again. I shared this book with all my nieces. They loved the sound and plot of it so much, they were reading it to each other. This is really a must-read for all kids of all ages. It¿s on a subject that most people don¿t want to discuss, yet one that all kids really need to learn about. There¿s even a section at the end of the book that explains to kids how to avoid becoming a victim. Highly recommended, and what every child needs to be aware of . . . beginning with small toddlers.
