About the Author

John Michael Greer (Western Maryland) has been a student of occult traditions and the unexplained for more than thirty years. A Freemason, a student of geomancy and sacred geometry, and a widely read blogger, he is also the author of numerous books, including Monsters, The New Encyclopedia of the Occult and Secrets of the Lost Symbol, and currently serves as the Grand Archdruid of the Ancient Order of Druids in America (AODA), a contemporary school of Druid nature spirituality. Greer has contributed articles to Renaissance Magazine, Golden Dawn Journal, Mezlim, New Moon Rising, Gnosis, and Alexandria.

Everything changes and evolves. A famous magical society, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, was able to unite and expand upon a wide variety of mystical systems. But times, places, and people have changed over the last century. This system of magick must be presented in a new light for a new generation.

That's where Circles of Power by John Michael Greer comes in. Here, the inner workings of Western ceremonial magic are explained in a practical and down-to-earth manner. It is not just a repetition of rituals. Rather, it gives the core principles of each magical practice. The result is that you can now adapt and adopt these rituals and techniques to meet your needs within your own magical path.

Whether you want to learn the secrets of invoking and banishing using pentagram and hexagram rituals; a ritual for invisibility; or methods of spiritual development, Circles of Power opens up exciting new territory for students of the Western Tradition. A definitive, contemporary guidebook to the Cabalistic magic of the Golden Dawn, it takes you step-by-step through the basic building blocks of ritual to powerful, advanced techniques of energy work, magic, and personal transformation. This book is a must.

this is an excellent book, for the novice or the experienced student of ceremonial magick. Greer breaks down magick in both theory and practice. he covers spiritual development, talisman magick, and evocation, including what to do when things go awry. i highly recommend this work.
