Los Angeles' Circus Disco was a haven for electronic post-disco, music largely made by Europeans (Italians especially) with undying love for fluorescent melodies and bouncing rhythms. This, the second retrospective Circus Disco Mix, was put together by the club's 1978-1986 DJ, Martin Rodriguez, so there is no doubting its legitimacy. Given the inclusions -- Kano's "Now Baby Now," Roni Griffith's "The Best Part of Breaking Up," Magnifique's "Magnifique," Sylvester's "Dance Disco Heat," Fun Fun's "Color My Love," Cut Glass' "Without Your Love" -- it's no surprise that the energy level is high throughout, shining a spotlight on the links between disco and house.

This CD is a masterpiece! Martin Rodriguez did a fantastic job and he's still at it! Martin's ear for mixing one song to the next without skipping a beat cannot be matched by anyone out there!
