This manual was developed for use with the Cisco CCNA online curriculum and Cisco Networking Academy Program: Second-Year Companion Guide for semesters 3 and 4. These labs coincide with those in the current Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP), with some additional information added. Most of the labs are hands-on and will require access to a Cisco router lab, a simulator, or software such as Cisco ConfigMaker. Additional paper-based labs are included to supplement the online curriculum, which are practice exercises for complex topics.

All labs and exercises are comprised of three main sections:

1. Overview Section: Includes objectives, background information, and a "Tools/Preparation" section to help students, instructors, and lab assistants prepare for the lab. This section also includes web site resources and references to the corresponding chapter(s) to read in Cisco Networking Academy Program: Second-Year Companion Guide and online curriculum. For planning purposes, each lab indicates the approximate amount of time it should take. This may vary depending on the number students working together on the lab and the resources available.

2. Worksheet Section: Includes the steps necessary to complete the lab, with progress questions.

3. Answers Section: Provides the answers to the questions in the lab worksheets.
