City at the Edge of Time Janet Morris and Chris Morris After reading many works by these authors I decided to step back in time to read some of the earlier works. For followers or the Morris writings, you always receive the highest quality and City at the Edge of Time is no exception. Brilliantly written and a superb story from start to finish. I am really looking forward to exploring more works. Powerful, dynamic and engaging. Excellent adventure.

I'm a gigantic fan of the Sacred Band Series. In each book, Janet Morris combines epic fantasy with coming of age tales. You get realistic characters, fully thought out worlds, and action that satisfies without being over the top. This is everything that's right about heroic fantasy. If you haven't started the Sacred Band Series, do yourself a favor and start today. Unlike many of the serials of today, each is a fully developed novel (this one is over 300 pages) rather than the gimmick you often see of a 50-page story pretending to be a book. Reading this, you understand how much Morris cares about crafting a story readers will enjoy and want to come back to time and again.
