Nothing is more important to Blake Anderson than the work he does with his brothers at Ace Security. At least that’s what he thinks until he meets the fiercely independent Alexis Grant. The security firm’s new intern pushes all his buttons—and makes his temperature rise. But giving in to temptation might be risky business.

Alexis can tell that Blake has his doubts about her ability to commit. But while most people look at her and see only a flighty rich girl, she knows he sees much more. Determined to prove herself to Blake, Alexis jumps at the chance to work undercover. And when her case takes a dangerous turn, she puts her trust—and her heart—in his hands.

Now, as Alexis digs into the deadly secrets of a local gang, Blake will lay everything on the line to protect the woman he’s come to love.

4 stars I purchased a copy of Claiming Alexis (Ace Security Book 2)by Susan Stoker and this review is given freely. An opposites attract, workplace romance with a virgin heiress and an alpha male. Blake has taken Alexis under his wing as a PI intern and it is almost immediate attraction. This is a steamy novel with a heavier emphasis on the romance than the prior novel but still provides you with some graphic violence. As with the prior novel, the main female character is well off and had sustained some type of abuse as a child. Alexis goes undercover to help close down the Inca Boyz gang, some of whose members had brutally beaten her in middle school. Highly descriptive with updates on prior characters and an ending hook that just grabs you. Best if read in order in series. Best if read in order in series. Recommend age 18+

Be prepared to be on the edge of your seat while reading this tense and very suspenseful read, it is gripping and a little bit worrying in places. Alexis is one plucky lady and more than proves herself, she is sassy and a bit badass, she might be from money but you wouldn't think so she is down to earth and fights for her independence. She is determined to help Blake and his brothers in any way she can, even putting her own life on the line to do so. Blake has noticed this feisty woman working for them, she puts in the hours and does all she's asked of, he is attracted to her at the start but that soon sparks more. He is strong, hot and protective, he also knows when it makes sense to allow Alexis to help them more than he is really comfortable with. There is no standing still with this plot, there is some violence and parts of that are hard to read. This author has a real way with descriptions and almost had my own stomach revolting at some of them, but it definitely got the point across. This series is some of the best work Susan Stoker has done and that's saying something because all her books are great, I think these have just a little more depth and edginess than before by a smudging. I would recommend her to anyone that likes military/private security reads that are full of action and suspense.

This is a great book to read. It is worth buy and reading. Alexis Grant helps Ace Security when they need it. She meat Blake when he helped her brother. But any way this is the time to buy the book to find out what happens to the people in the book.

Claiming Alexis is the second book in Susan Stoker’s Ace Security Series. I did not read the first book, Claiming Grace, so there were a few questions that lingered throughout. However, those gaps in information did not take away from my overall enjoyment of Claiming Alexis. The Ace Security series centers around three brothers who own a security firm in Colorado. They were abused by their mother growing up and eventually, she killed their father, Ace. Because of their abuse, Ace Security focuses on helping victims of abuse. The three brothers are Logan, Blake, and Nathan Anderson. Logan’s story was featured in the first book, Claiming Grace, where Ace Security rescued his now wife Grace from a dangerous gang called the Inca Boyz. This time, the focus is on Blake Anderson and his budding relationship with Ace Security’s newest employee, Alexis Grant. She initially came aboard to help them take down the Inca Boyz who had kidnapped her brother in the first book. Now, Alexis is finding it hard to hide her attraction to Blake as they work together more and more. Alexis agrees to go undercover to get closer to a former friend who is directly connected to the Inca Boyz. As the intensity of this undercover op increases, so does the relationship between Blake and Alexis. There is plenty of dirty talking before they even get between the sheets. And when they finally do get naked, it’s nothing short of erotic. The suspense throughout the book is just as intense as Blake and Alexis’ relationship. It was very hard to watch Alexis go into the lion’s den on numerous occasions as she interacted with the Inca Boyz. They were very brutal, callous, and just plain old scary guys who had no regard for women. Consequently, some of the imagery is very disturbing. At some point, I found myself speeding through the book just so that I could see justice served. The gang members had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The climax was worth the wait and I loved seeing Blake in action doing what the military taught him to do. I look forward to the next book and may have to go back and read the first one. **Received a copy from Montlake Romance and reviewed the book voluntarily.**

This is book 2 in the Ace Security series and it features Alexis Grant and Blake Anderson. I love the characters in this series. This book felt like it was put together too quickly. The story line itself is good but unlike her other books, the undercover operation seemed put together without thought.  Alexis had an innocence to her that was a little odd for her character, which is another reason I found it strange that they would throw her in the middle of gang territory. Susan Stoker is an amazing author who writes fantastic books. I did not have a least favorite book of hers…until now.  This is a good read for me but not great.  I still look forward to reading anything written by this author and I can't wait for the third book in this series.

Susan Stoker has a new book out in her ACE Security Series, and like all of her other series, this one is taking off with a bang! Alexis Grant had worked for Ace security for 3 months and had been helping with the case against the Masons (You’ll want to see book one!) when she fell hard for Blake Anderson. Of course, Blake is concerned with how long Alexis is going to stick around. She does have a bad habit of hopping around from job to job. Alexis figures since Blake wants nothing to do with her, she’ll just quit when her assignment is over. But her assignment is to go after the gang that was paid to kidnap her brother, The Inca Boyz. And she wants to help way more than just social media searches. Blake gains a new respect for Alexis, but he isn’t happy at just how far she’ll go to prove herself, especially when her life is in danger. I loved Blake in this book! What a super, sexy, protective alpha. And Alexis was a warm and wonderful woman who was so right for Blake, but typical of Ms. Stoker’s heroine’s she has had a difficult upbringing in life and people have not treated her well. It’s up to Blake and family to show her just how worthy she really is. And I’ve always loved the fact that she isn’t afraid to allow the heroine to go through some violence and trauma and to let the hero really shine!

3.5 stars-- CLAIMING ALEXIS is the second installment in Susan Stoker’s contemporary, adult ACE SECURITY erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the Anderson triplets (Blake, Logan and Nathan) and the family owned Ace Security. This is Ace Security co-owner and security specialist Blake Anderson, and new Ace Security intern and heiress Alexis Grant’s story line. CLAIMING ALEXIS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading book one CLAIMING GRACE as much of the current story line premise is a direct result of the events in book one. Told from dual third person perspectives (Blake and Alexis) CLAIMING ALEXIS follows Alexis Grant as she goes undercover to ferret our information about the Inca Boyz gang, their involvement in the recent attempts to destroy Grace’s (Claiming Grace) life, and her brother Bradford’s entanglement in the blackmail scheme between Inca Boyz and Grace’s parents. While Alexis volunteers to go undercover, Blake struggles with his growing love for the woman that calls to his heart. What ensues are Alexis’s struggle and pursuit to be accepted by the Inca Boyz gang, and the fall out when the ruse is uncovered by someone from Alexis’s past. CLAIMING ALEXIS is a friend to lovers romance that focuses on the quick building relationship between Alexis and Blake. Alexis has some issues of self esteem that center on what she believes are her less than exemplary physical attributes, and the uncomfortable circumstances that her parent’s money has placed upon her personal and emotional inability to trust. Blake has been attracted to Alexis from the very start, and his proclamation of need and love is quickly replaced by fear when Alexis volunteers to go undercover with the Inca Boyz gang. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate; Alexis is a virgin whose lack of experience is quickly replaced by exploration and a man who is willing to take his time with the woman he loves. A drunk Alexis tells it like it is; and Blake likes to talk dirty in the bedroom. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Logan and Grace (Claiming Grace #1), Nathan Anderson, as well as several members of the Inca Boyz gang. Alexis’s lack of experience as it pertained to the undercover operation is disturbing especially when everything begins to fall apart. The circumstances were dangerous and life threatening even though Blake and the others claimed to be a heartbeat away. I question the believability of such actions and placing a civilian in the direct line of fire but such is the world of fictional story lines and sometimes, in the end, believability is to be suspended. CLAIMING ALEXIS is a spirited story line. The premise is energetic; the characters are enthusiastic; the romance is provocative and intense-Alexis’s lack of experience and inability to hold her booze leads to some rather unorthodox comments and actions. The reality of the undercover operation is questionable.

Thrilling, action packed, heart pounding emotional romantic adventure. Loved all the twits and turns leading through this exciting journey. Blake Anderson is a very sexy, head strong, alpha male protector that makes running a security company with his brothers the best fit for him. Alexis Grant is sexy, smart, head strong and fiercely independent, as the new intern drives Blake crazy in more ways than one. Explosive attraction sparks between them while undercover and risking their lives in the line of duty. Loved all the thrilling action in this highly entertaining read.

3.5 Stars! Claiming Alexis is the second book in the series and it picks up not far after the 1st book left off. In this book, Ace Security is focusing on the gang that was hired to take compromising pictures of Grace and Alexis's brother from the first book. Ace Security is focusing on shutting the gang down. I love seeing all the same characters from the first book and I really liked Blake and Alexis as our main characters. I was glad to see Blake be more proactive in his pursuit of Alexis. I did think the book focused a little too much on her low self esteem. I'm not much of a fan about body issues in romance books. Overall this was an enjoyable read and the hints to the next book were intriguing. It looks like we haven't seen the last of the gang. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Undercover Gang Story. The second in a series but can be read as a standalone. Wow, was Alexis brave - I wouldn't have wanted to go undercover as she did. Found it very strange and sad that Alexis who was kind and big hearted, did not appear to have a single friend. Good plot, good story and romance but I did get very tired of the f* word, hence the dropping of a star for me. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

I love Susan Stoker’s heroes. They are all alpha, all protective, and all in. Blake was no different. When he first meets Alexis he doesn’t see her for who and what she really is, but after working with her for a few months he’s decided she’s exactly what he wants. Alexis has never fit in and after a traumatic event during her school years, she has learned to keep a part of herself protected. However, Blake has those yummy arms that star in her dreams and she’s doing all she can to keep him from knowing she wants to be more than just friends and coworkers. Amidst the drama of a local gang investigation, this couple heat up the pages as Alexis goes undercover and Blake goes ballistic. I loved this storyline as well as the secondary characters. Looking for a quick, steamy read, low in angst but high in action? Claiming Alexis will fit the bill. ARC provided by Montlake Romance via Netgalley Dual POV Safe Possible triggers

This book is the second of the series titled Ace Security, based on a set of male triplets who formed their company after being abused as children by their mother. Though it’s a stand alone, it does continue with the theme of book one in that they are trying to dissolve the gang that almost killed the female character of the first book. The story centers around Blake and the new recruit, Alexis. A young woman that is still trying to find herself. At first I wasn’t sure I would like the book, since I found the dialogue in the first couple of chapters a little choppy and at times I felt the story dragged, then moved along quickly. But once I got over that , it moved along smoothly. Blake and Alexis rather quickly develop a romance, and the action is their attempt to infiltrate the gang to get information on how to bring them down. As with the previous book, I liked more the male character , than the female character. We also get a glimpse of the female character that I suspect will be the love interest for the third brother, Nathan. For me it was more of a 3.5 but I do respect the author and her dedication, and for that , she gets a 4 star. I was gifted this copy by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

LOVED this book! It's another winner (and book two) in the Ace Security series. As a stand alone novel, this book delivers fast paced romantic suspense at its best. I felt invested in the characters and cared about their story. In this book, Alexis goes undercover in a gang as a friend of one of their women - who used to be a childhood friend of hers. As a wealthy heiress, Alexis is used to people using her for her money - including her former friend who she uses, in a bit of turnabout is fair play, as her entree to the gang. Nothing about gang life is sexy or appealing and the author paints the gang interactions and crimes with the grit and horror that composes a gang and gang life. This is a compelling tale that fans of the genre will love. If you haven't read a book by this author, you are missing out. She is a the top of my must read authors' list and should probably be on yours as well.

This story had me on the edge of my seat from the beginning. Alexis is a strong, independent woman who is trying to find her place in the world. She and Blake are intense and steamy! I loved the agnst and heartfelt emotions that were portrayed by Alexis and Blake. In true Ms. Stoker fashion, this story ROCKS!

I have always heard that Susan Stoker books are good and that I needed to try them. This is my first one and I was not disappointed! Although this is the second book in this series, I can honestly say that you can read it alone although some things that are talked about make more sense if you read the first one. I ended up going back and getting that one to read just to understand the complete story arc better. All that being said, I really enjoyed this book. It is about Blake Anderson, the brother of the main hero in the first book. And Alexis Grant, the sister of one of the people being blackmailed. They meet when she wants to help the brothers, who own Ace Security together, gather evidence against the Inca Boyz to put them away for good. A chance comes in for her to be able to help in a big way when they find out someone she went to school with is a major player in the gang. So they work it out for her to go undercover. Along the way Blake realizes exactly what she means to him and makes sure not only she knows it, but so do his brothers. This book was really good. There was action, suspense, romance, and comedy all thrown into one book and I loved that! Alexis is a woman who is very good at hiding who she truly is so she doesn't get hurt by people who don't want to really know HER. She has this attitude about her that I really loved and I loved how she wasn't afraid to speak her mind! Blake is this sweet and protective man who actually takes the time to get to know her. He actually looks beyond the surface and see's who she truly is, and loves her all the more for it! This was a great read and I really can't wait for Nathan's book!!

I absolutely loved this second book in the Ace Security series!! Susan Stoker does it again! This is Blake's book and I loved it just as much as Logan's. Alexis has been working with Blake and his brothers at Ace for a little while now and has been secretly in love with Blake the whole time. Blake finally really sees her beyond friendship and decides he has to have her. They have chemistry that is off the charts! This storyline is very well written and suspenseful as Alexis uses her tie to an old "friend" to get herself insinuated into her inner circle which is the Inca Boyz gang from the first book. Some pretty intense and scary situations ensue and Blake wants nothing more but to protect Lex so he can finally make her his. This book has everything you expect from a Susan Stoker book; a sweet alpha swoonworthy hero, a kick butt heroine, action, humor, suspense, romance and some very hot and steamy times between Blake & Lex. Couldn't put this one down! 5 stars!! I am looking forward to Nathan's book!

Awesome read. I am really enjoying this series. This is the second book but it's not necessary for you to have read the first to enjoy this one. I really enjoyed the characters in this book and it had just enough suspense and action to keep things interesting. Alexis Grant is working as an intern at the security firm owned and run by Blake Anderson and his brothers. She knows they all look at her as the silly little rich girl so when a chance to jump in on a case arises she's all in. There is a big attraction between Alexis and Blake but the particulars of this case will put that desire to the test. Keeping Alexis safe becomes Blake's number one priority. I highly recommend this one.
