“Clam Jam”

Definition: the female equivalent of a cock block.

Example: You’re chatting with a guy you’re interested in and your friend comes along and lays claim to him.

That’s my life—except it’s worse. My friend who keeps “jamming” me is my gay roommate, and if that isn’t a W.T.F. moment, I’m not sure what is.

Fact: He went home with three—yes, three—of the guys I had been so sure were into me.

Fact: He’s really pissing me off. I mean, hello? I’m trying to get back in the saddle, but I’ll never manage to get a boyfriend before the age of fifty if he keeps this up.

Fact: Secretly, I wonder what it would be like if he weren’t gay. Why do all the hot, sweet, tender-hearted guys have to be gay?

Fact: My gay-dar needs a serious tune-up.

The day I interviewed for the room to rent, everything changed. I knew I had met “the girl,” except there was one small problem: she didn’t want anything to do with men. I recognized a top-notch force field when I saw one. She’d been burned badly and didn’t want to deal with a heterosexual guy as a roommate. I could’ve turned around and found another place to live, but I wanted to live there—with her.

So I had to go “undercover.”

Fact: I’m in love with my roommate.

Fact: I’m a likely candidate for carpal tunnel surgery since all the action I’ve had for the past year has been my hand.

Fact: She’s going to hate me if I come clean now.

Fact: I’m not giving up. Which means I’ll just have to continue to run defense until I figure out a way to get Maggie to see the “real” me.

The me that loves her.

The me that would never do her wrong.

Until then, I’ll keep running off every guy who shows any interest.

Until then, I’ll continue to Clam Jam.

Okay, my first book by this author and I'm hooked! Loved so much about it! It had so many pop culture references that are right up my alley. Like a reference to one of my favorite kid books, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, and then a reference later on to Pretty in Pink, about how Duckie should have got the girl in the end. Vocabulary such as the word "stabby" which made me think of my favorite tv show of all time, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This book was not only perfect for me personally, it was hilarious, the whole clam jamming idea, so funny! The way that he did it, I laughed so hard at that. And then, later, it got so darn steamy! Loved this story and characters so much. I got to meet the author and get it signed at Book Bonanza last year, hope to read more soon!

If you love rom-com, you MUST read this. Clam Jam had me rolling. I mean really... Did Ry really think pretending to be gay would win the girl? Oh, come on. Comedy gold ready and happening. Ry and Maggie are perfect together. But the things Ry comes up with to dissuade any guys interested in Maggie, my side still hurts. This is the 3rd book I've read from RC Boldt, and I have yet to be disappointed. She has become one of my automatic click authors. Whether it's the more serious side, or the fun of her rom-com, RC Boldt is one of my favorites.

I really loved this book. This book had me cracking up at 5% in and kept in going through out the book. I loved Maggie and Ry. They were so perfect for each other but Ry had to just make her see that without all the other stuff getting in the way. Ry is the type of hero I love. He knew he had to have Maggie when he first saw her and when he got his chance, he made his move although in a very unorthodox way. I loved their movie nights and I loved how Ry was "clam jamming" Maggie. It was hilarious. I rarely give out the 5 star, so when I do that means READ THIS BOOK!

I won a copy of this book in a giveaway and am voluntarily writing an honest review. This is the first book I read by this author and OMG am I glad I read it!!!!!! Maggie needs a room mate after kicking her ex out and Ry applies. However in order to get the room he has to pretend he is gay. Little does Maggie know that Ry is really in love with her. When Maggie decides to re-enter the dating pool, Ry goes to great lengths to ensure she does not meet anyone. This book is laugh-out-loud funny. I actually had to go to a different room because I was laughing so much it woke my boyfriend up. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would!!!

4.5 Stars With the title Clam Jam you know it's going to be good. Plus RC Boldt wrote it and you can never go wrong with a book by her. I was laughing so much through this book. You can tell how big Ry's feelings for Maggie are by all he puts himself through just have a shot with her even pretending to be gay. Some of my favorite scenes are with Ry and his buddy pulling the ruse. Maggie has gone through a bad break up and has sworn off men, but Ry sure makes he wish she hadn't. To bad he bats for the other team or does he? Reading this puts me in such a great mood and the story itself is a winner. Then you add the humor and you have yourself a great combination.

I loved this book. Laugh out loud funny, sexy, and a whole lot of fun to read. I loved every second of this book. Aside from the hilarity of it there was so much heart and you really felt connected to Ry and Maggie. These two were some of my all time favorite characters and I know I will be reading this over and over again.

I love when a Romantic Comedy book reads like a Romantic Comedy movie and CLAM JAM definitely did. The plot was refreshing, the characters were enjoyable, and there was plenty of steam, geekiness and cheese to make for a good time had by all. Maggie was absolutely adorable, but it was Ryland who stole the show. He was the one I adored the most. He was a sympathetic character (not to say Maggie wasn't because she was) and while his subterfuge was pretty idiotic, it made for some pretty hilarious times. He unfortunately loved a woman who thought she wasn't ready for love again. There was an obvious instant attraction, but for the most part, Maggie convinced herself to give up on ever having something more with her new "gay" best friend. Who doesn't seem all that gay after all. And why on Earth did Ryland have to be so ridiculously hot??? LOL this book was a hoot and I recommend it to anyone looking for a light, fun read. Release Date: January 10, 2016 Genre: Romantic Comedy POV: Dual - 1st person Steam: 4 out of 5 Series or Standalone: Standalone Ending: Cute epilogue in the not so distant future

Books have the ability to make you feel lots of emotions, but a book that makes you belly laugh to the point of tears is, in my opinion, a diamond in the rough. Clam Jam by R.C. Boldt, is one of those very books! From the very first sentence, this book had me laughing and it continued on throughout. The main character, Maggie, is amazing. Now, the voice in which the story is told, may not be for everyone. But for me, she is gold. I loved her sarcastic tone and the sass that was thrown in for spice. The pop culture and literature references fit perfectly. She also enjoys making up her own words. Maggie is an incredibly intelligent woman and makes no qualms for it, but also has no problems admitting her short comings. For instance, the moment she realizes and notes the incredible architecture of her apartment. She is an incredibly well constructed character both. The story is told in the first person both from the point of view of Maggie and her roommate, Ryland. The author, R.C. Boldt, executes those points of view perfectly. I enjoyed this book immensely. The writing is fantastic. The characters are well rounded and superbly formed. I had my questions about the plot, but the author spins it in such a new way, it feels new and unexpected. And finally, the laughs. This book is well worth the read, just for the laughs you will get from it. I highly recommend this book!

Clam Jam was a little different than anything I have read recently. When I read the blurb I was immediately entertained by the idea of a guy pretending to be gay to order to get to know the woman and thwart her attempts to date other men. It definitely didn't disappoint. I found a lot of humor in Ry's discomfort, even if at times I wanted to slap him upside the head and hell his to grow and pair and just tell Maggie how he truly felt. This story had me all kinds of entertained with the humor and heat.

Sweet mother of clams! RC Boldt is my new favorite author. Her humor and writing captivated me in the first pages. I read the book, in its entirety, in 4 hours. It was funny and hot. For a girl who loves to laugh I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my night. This story is about a girl, Maggie, who has been burned by her fiance (Major douchecanoe) and her decision to not have a man for the next foreseeable future. Though because of the douchecanoe she needed a new roommate. Then enters Ry, the unbelievably hot roommate. Just she was about to nix the roommate plan, he tells her he is Gay!!! Ry gay?! No way!! Through out the book we see their undeniable chemistry. Lord help her when she is finally ready Ry makes it his mission in life to clam jam her. Being Clam Jammed is not something I would ever want to happen to me. Really who would?! Will Ry ever tell her the truth? Or will Maggie snap from being clam jammed one too many times? You will have to read it yourself to find because it is definitely worth a read.

Clam Jam by R.C. Boldt is a standalone romance with humor in spades and the sweetest friends to lover story. Ry just wants to be with Maggie - She is his one but when he can tell that she is faltering on him being her new roommate he blurts out that he is gay. What to do now? She feels secure post break-up that she doesn't have to feel threatened by her new male roommate because he isn't into girls, but she just CANNOT stop lusting after him. Told in dual POV with some hilarious inner thought processes and Clam-Jamming situations I thoroughly enjoyed this read and think you will too! Enjoy!
