I have read the book CLAN by David P Elliot in three sessions! Normally, I am not a fast reader, but that novel is a real page-turner and utterly captivating! Once you start reading it, you just can't put it down! The story is told by a middle-aged, more or less frustrated Oxfordshire businessman who embarks on an epic journey up to the Scottish Borders, where he hopes to find out more about his ancestors, the mighty Elliot Clan. Not long after arrival, he and his family - his daughter, son-in-law and beloved grandson who joined him on his trip - get sucked into a heart stopping plot that started some 700 years ago... this novel is a fascinating amalgamation of historical facts and figures, the author's biography and supernatural fiction! Highly recommended to everyone who is interested in Scotland's eventful history, supernatural fiction and of course to the descendants of the proud Border Reiver Clan - the Elliots.

An absolutely surreal and brilliant read which seems well researched around the Scottish borders. Certainly one of my best reads in years. A book to rival any of the best in tales that were the lifeblood of our culture and the travelling story tellers of old. An enthralling mixture of fantasy and fact which comes alive and transports you to the rich atmosphere of the Scottish borders. I first heard the author giving a short reading and was immediately totally enthralled and captivated. The tale is very unusual and a great addition to literature and really look forward to the next book

'CLAN' intertwines past and present, taking its readers from the 14th century - where a battle over the Throne of Scotland is under way - to the present times and back again. In 2007 England, David Elliot starts on a journey of self-discovery accompanied by his daughter, Kate, his son-in-law and his baby grandson, Thomas. Their destination is the borders of Scotland, where the Elliot family stems from and where David, interested in genealogy, hopes to find out more about his ancestors. What he cannot imagine is that his family is in great danger. Lord William de Soulis is waiting for them, observing them using his supernatural powers and aided by his evil familiar, Robin Red Cap. After fighting to become King of Scotland and being imprisoned in spirit form in the sinister Hermitage Castle for hundreds of years after his death, he is plotting to come back into the world. To do that he needs to sacrifice someone whose bloodline is meaningful to him. Someone who happens to be travelling to the borders of Scotland with three loving family members... Find out more about this battle between Good and Evil in this page-turning novel. Well researched, informative and involving, it will make you want to read more from this author, whose pen will hopefully give us soon another thrilling read.
