Another fun chapter book from the dynamic duo of Mike Thaler and Jared Lee -- just in time for Election Day! Mean Mrs. Green is forcing everyone to run for something in the school election, but everyone just wants to run for their lives! YIKES! Hubie is running for president against Doris. But he doesn't think he stands a chance against the free ice cream that she's giving away to voters. Plus, to stay in the race he has to do crazy stuff like shaking Coach Kong's paw and Mrs. Green's claw, and kissing a bunch of babies. Hubie's chances look slim. Will being the candidate who stands for something---not just who stands on top of something--be enough to win him the race in the end?

In the Class Election From the Black Lagoon. The author says you have to run for something so why not the class election. Mike has written and published over 200 books in his life, and this one was a short 64 paged book. Mike is 80 years old and passed away. This book was a good book but it needed to be longer with more detail and its had lots of characters. The book was really good and I give it 4 stars because it was short, if it would have been longer I would have given it 5. There are 16 chapters in this book but are very short. The characters are Mrs. Green, Doris, Penny, Freddy, Randy, and Eric. They need to tell more about the election and what is going on during the election. There needs to be less pictures in this book so they can have more writing in the book. The pictures in the book are not really that detailed, but the cover page is pretty good with color. This book has everyday things about school and what happens there. I’ve read a lot of his other books and they were also good but they were short just like this one, but if you want easy points for AR or RC this is a good book
