This book contains mysteries written by authors, such as Agatha Christie, Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Rinehart and others. Many readers may not have read some of the authors presented in the Collection but that should be recified by reading this. Many of these under represented authors were gifted and well known in the years in which they wrote. Mary Roberts Rinehart was considered the "Agatha Chritie" of her day. Two of the most twisted and chilling stories I read were entitled 'The Moonstone' and "The Woman in White' by Wikie Collins. His tale of 'The Haunted Hotel" is equally chiling, haunting with a sad beauty underlying the tale. The gentle humour of G.K. Chessterton's 'Father Brown' series will bring a smile to your face but also a lesson in humility and grace in simply being who you are. Anna Katherine Green's 'Agatha Webb' is a haunting and sad tale of what a mother does to protect, what another woman will do to get what she wants in life, no matter the cost and what fate holds for all who endeavor to change their lives. My suggestion for those to like mysteries and novels, DOWNLOAD THIS COLLECTION. It is how books should be written.

Bought this book because I am a great fan of mysteresis. Seems like a wonderful collection. Opened the book on by Nook and went to select a story, only to find the Table of contents only lists the first novel in the collection. I can reach the other stories by flipping pages or using the goto page option but this is frustrating in a collection of this size. I know other collections have had problems with thier TOC, not sure how to fix this issue though. Other than the TOC problem I think the collection is wonderful especially for the price.

This is an amazing deal. In addition to the universally familiar mystery authors, there are many new to me included herein, and I was glad to find several books in series. As soon as I had finished one "Father Brown" mystery, I was pleased to find another. The only downside I found is, if there are references to diagrams, they are non-existent in the e-book version. To me, this is not a huge deal, but might aggravate some. For the long Maine winter, this has been a great collection.
