A Life Filled With Riches

The riches that mean most to Teresa "Toots" Loudenberry are the loving friends and family she's accumulated over the course of a life well lived. And now that her daughter, Abby, has married her beau Chris and settled down near Toots in Charleston, life is even more satisfying than the delicious pralines sold at Toots's bakery, The Sweetest Thing.

Abby isn't the only one enjoying a little romance. Toots's friendship with Dr. Phil Becker has grown unexpectedly close. . .and that brings both joy and complications. As a distraction, Toots throws herself into helping Abby and Chris open an animal rescue shelter on their plantation. But life takes a serious turn when two young children disappear after visiting The Sweetest Thing. Toots immediately enlists Ida, Sophie, and Mavis to help in the search. But as Sophie's psychic abilities draw them closer to the culprits, they realize the stakes are much higher than they ever could have imagined. . .

Good read, very predictable but fun seeing what the godmothers are always up to. Easy summer reading

The last novel in the series. This one still contained overly detailed descriptions of each cigarette, etc. These ladies have bad habits but does the author have to tell us each and every time they smoke, drink or make a rude hand gesture. The ending wrapped things up but it was so predictable. I found it "sappy". The series is fairly enjoyable - something simple to read on a rainy day. Start with book 1 and work your way though. However, if I hadn't already purchased the entire series before reading it, I wouldn't have continued past book 1.

This is one of the best book series I have ever read. I love how even thought you would think that the"gang" didn't get along that they were and will always be best of friend and family.

Maybe I should have started with the first book in the series, but there were so many characters thrown in so fast, I couldn't keep track. I had a hard time figuring out who fit where. I am a huge Fern Michaels fan, but this one just didn't do the trick.

Fast entertainment. What’s not to love with a book about Toots and the godmothers? Add the love story with Abby and Chris to a new level with them getting married and pregnant, and you have a happy reader. We have dreams from the past, missing children, séances, animals, weddings, and lots more. With so many weddings in the works, I wonder if there will be more books in this series. The downside to this book was Abby’s dream from the past. There was no follow up, you were left hanging wondering about what happened to these people. This was such a big deal for me that I gave this book a lower rating

As all of Fern Michael's books this was an easy read and keeps your attention throughout the entire book. I have enjoyed all the Godmother series and this one was just as good as the rest of them. I hope she will continue with this series as they are all about to become Grandma Godmothers.....can't wait to read the next one.
