A great addition to this series! Devon is charming and sweet and Anne is as strong as the women in the other two books. We got to see Tristan and Charles again, but the focus was all on Devon and Anne. Their romance built gradually and I knew they'd be together but wanted so badly for them to be able to overcome what was keeping them apart. There were some nice twists and turns throughout and the story kept me on the edge of my seat for a lot of the book. There were moments of calm and tenderness too. A nice clean romance and mystery story.

ALTHOUGH THIS CAN BE READ AS A STAND ALONE, IT IS MUCH MORE APPRECIATED IF READ IN THE SERIES ORDER. THE PREVIOUS BOOKS SETS THE FOUNDATION FOR THE FOLLOWING SAGA. THIS BOOK IS QUITE PREDICTABLE, YET, WRITTEN WITH THE SAME SMOOTH FLOW M.K.'S OTHER BOOKS HAVE. THERE ARE SOME UNEXPECTED TWISTS, BUT IT MAINLY JUST HAS WELL-WRITTEN, STEADY DRAMA THAT CAPTIVATES THE READER'S INTEREST. WHILE CHARLES BEGINS HIS HONEYMOON AT THE FAMILY COTTAGE IN IRELAND, HIS HONEYMOON IS INTERRUPTED BY HIS COUSIN ANNE'S DESPERATE KNOCKING AT 2:00 IN THE MORNING. SHE HAS WITNESSED A DEVASTATING SCENE AND HAS NOWHERE ELSE TO TURN. SHE ALSO NEEDS HER SLIGHTLY AILING MOTHER AND HER SWEET MONGOLOID SISTER RESCUED. CHARLES CLEVERLY ASSESSES THE SITUATION AT HER FAMILY CASTLE. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATION, DISCOVERS HER MOTHER AND SISTER, THEN, WITH TRUSTED HELP, USHERS THEM ALL TO HIS FRIEND'S PALACE IN ENGLAND. THE ACTION CONTINUES BETWEEN ENGLAND AND IRELAND. ROMANCE ENSUES BETWEEN CHARLES' FRIEND DEVAN & ANNE. NEITHER FEEL HE/SHE CAN TURN THEIR BACKS ON HIS/HER RESPONSIBILITIES AND LIFE'S WORK. IS THE ROMANCE IS DOOMED BEFORE IT EVEN BEGINS? THE CHARACTERS ARE VERY ENDEARING AND REAL. THE SCENES DESCRIBED WELL. THE TITLE AND BOOK COVER ARE FITTING. THIS IS A PERFECT SAGA, ESPECIALLY, FOR SUMMER READING ENJOYMENT. This book was sent to me in exchange for an honest review, of which I have given.

Another captivating case for the British Agents! 5 stars I really enjoyed Clayton's Honor, written by M.K. McClintock. This is her third story in her British Agent series. Again, this writer hasn't disappointed me with this beautiful Victorian historical set in England and Ireland. It tells the story of Devon, a charming British agent and Anne Doyle, a proud but stubborn Irish woman. Let's say, that I love this series! We meet again, her characters from her two previous books, Charles & Rhona and Tristan & Alaina. When Anne, suddenly witnesses a murder, she and her family, may become the assassin's next victims. She desperately needs help, and turns to one man, she hasn't in a long time. Charles, Tristan and Devon, as agents for the agency, will offer to protect her, her mother Kathryn and sister Claire. All together, they will embark in a journey filled with passion, secrets, lies, mystery and danger. Will Devon choose the woman he loves or his duty to his country? The plot is well developed and the author slowly built the suspense to keep me interested until the end. I recommend Clayton's Honor!

Reviewed by Rabia Tanveer for Readers' Favorite Clayton's Honor by MK McClintock is a clean historical romance that will keep your heart beating and your palms sweating. Set in Ireland in 1892, the novel follows Anne Doyle. She lost her father in the war and her mother died of madness; she only has her younger sister and she would do anything for her, no matter what. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she witnesses a murder. Now she has to take help from the remaining family members and she must only go to the person she trusts. Devon Clayton never really wanted a part of this. He loved the thrill of living on the edge; the danger and the adventure are the perks of his life that he enjoys the most. But when he is given the duty of protecting an innocent woman who witnessed a murder, he is tested beyond his imagination. His life has always been about duty to his country, but this little woman ignites feelings in him he never knew he had. When faced with a choice between duty and honor, which will he choose? There is nothing I like more than a good romance with strong characters and a powerful storyline. This is part of a series and there are a few mentions of the previous novels, but nothing too complicated that will make you scratch your head. Anne’s story is very powerful and Devon is a very compelling character. He is not scared of taking chances when it comes to his life, but when it comes to love he is headstrong. Nevertheless, I liked him, because his heart was always in the right place. This is definitely a novel that is going on my 'read again' shelf! A really good and smooth read!

Clayton’s Honor is a historical romance set in the 1890’s and is the continuation of a series, British Agent Novels. We see old friends and meet some new ones. This book focuses on Devon Clayton and Anne Doyle, who meet by chance through Charles, Anne’s cousin, after she interrupts his honeymoon with Rhona, due to seeing one of her family’s servants murdered in front of her. With the help of Devon, Charles, and Tristan, as well as Devon’s brothers Derek and Zachary, Anne will learn some hard truths about herself, her deceased father, her mentally unstable mother, and her younger sister, all the while falling in love with the duty-bound Devon Clayton. As this book is the third one in the series, things will be mentioned that takes place in the first 2 novels in the series, however it is a stand alone novel. I, myself, happened to love this book and will definitely be picking up the other 2, I will absolutely be rereading this one in the future.

This author is on my must read list! This latest book is as superb as the first two but it's a little different too. Devon's character isn't exactly what I expected him to be but he turned out better than I thought. In the first two books he seemed darker and more dangerous. In this one we get a little of that but he's also a loving person with a very sweet side. Anne has so much to overcome but she wasn't willing to give up on the promise of a good life. There was a nice climatic bit of action early on with a few little twists and gradual and sweet romance. Another clean read for a great series.
